Scope
1.1
This specification together with the Purchase Order covers the minimum
requirements for steel lubricated plug valves in nominal pipe size (NPS) 2 and
larger for ASME Classes 150 through 2500, and in sizes 1-13/16 inches and
larger for API maximum rated working pressures of 2000 through 5000 psi.
1.2
Plug valves covered by this specification shall be suitable for wet, sour liquid
and gaseous hydrocarbon services and suitable for a temperature range from 10C to 120C for ASME valves, and Temperature Rating U for API 6A valves.
1.3
Additional requirements for the following special services are covered under the
following appendix:
Appendix A: Low Temperature Service from -45C to -18C
