How To Jailbreak PS3
i have many Games that have modified EBOOT (like Duplex or Other Dumper Scene Groups) and When i
Converted them to ISO with genPS3iSO,i get Error 80010017
we have two Methods for Fix This Problem:
i tested all Games That get me error 80010017 with my Method and Now They working like Charm
Copy eboot.bin signature that was Fail inside ODDE Eboot Resigner Folder
now run "run me.bat" and select "1"
now your EBOOT is valid and you can test that again with iSOTools
now replace modified EBOOT with EBOOT inside USRDIR Folder and Create Game with genPS3ISO

tutorial for all those who didn't succed to install any DLC or PSN game on their ps3 with E3 ODE PRO until now.
Requirements:
- DLC/PSN game in pkg files
- PkgView or Pkg Toolkit GUI
- FileZilla
- MM Full Version, Multiman version for ODE
- a ps3, of course
DLC installation:
- first of all, you'll need to use PkgView/Pkg Toolkit to extract the containing files of pkg anywhere on your PC. Both of them
are pretty easy to use so I'm sure you won't have any problems at this. After the extraction, you should have a folder "BLES-
xxxxx" that contains "USRDIR" and other files
- next, you'll have to install multiman on your ps3. Take notice that if you try to install directly the version for ODE it won't work,
so before this you'll have to install a full version of multiman. You can run/install MM from XMB as the games. After you're
done, run multiman, go to Settings->FTP Service, set it on "Enable (No Timeout)" and leave the multiman opened
- now, the PS3 and your PC must be connected to the same network (wireless router, etc). You need to install FileZilla, run it
and in the host box you must type the ip of your PS3 (it should start with 192.168.1.xxx), in the Username andPassword box
you have to type 'root' and for port 21
- now, you'll have in the right part of the window the folder tree of your PS3. All you have to do is enter in dev_hdd0/game,
search the name of the folder you have extracted in your PC and enter it. There you'll have to copy all the files you have in the
extracted folder (choose Overwrite if it asks)
- done...

one as your extracted folder

- when you're done, you'll have to rebuild your ps3's database. To do that, you have to enter Recovery Menu where you'll
choose "Rebuild Database". For those who don't know how to enter Recovery Menu, follow the steps bellow:
1. Turn off your PS3 so you see that glowing red light we are all familiar with.
2. Turn on your PS3 and HOLD the power button. Keep holding until it turns off.
3. Now turn it on again but this time it will be a little different. Press and hold the power button and you will hear... 1 beep ...
then 2 quick beeps. At this point, release the power button. If you release it to late it will just turn off again. Return to step 1 if
this happens.
Be sure that your ps3 is connected to the internet before entering mm!

Written Tutorial :
One common question I find on here time and again is "Can I jailbreak my PS3?" The answer is simple. You MUST be on
version 3.55, and you MUST have 2 PS3 consoles, just to make this easier on yourself. Some PS3 slim models will not be
able to be downgraded, so please refer to the Next Steps part, and check the compatibility there. To check your current
version, on the XMB Main screen navigate to Settings-System Settings-System Info. The "System Version" is where your
current version will be. Consoles that have not at one time been on 3.55 cannot be jailbroken either. So, if you bought a PS3
from Walmart and it came out of the box on 3.60, your out of luck. You may also check the requirements here.
In order to jailbreak, download the CFW, and plug in your USB flash drive. In your flash drive, right-click and format your flash
drive to FAT32. Once that is done, go into your USB, and create a new folder. Name this folder "PS3" without the quotations.
Inside the PS3 folder, create a folder called "Update" without the quotations. In this folder, you should place the
PS3UPDATE.PUP, which is found in the download for the Kmeaw 3.55 download. You can now safely eject your USB, and
plug it into your PS3.

HOW TO DOWNGRADE WITH E3 FLASHER TO ANY CFW OR
ANY OFW 3.55 OR LOWER.
http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=33989
This guide is up to date, and works to get your downgradable nor model PS3 on OFW 3.56 - OFW 4.81 to any CFW.
Including the new 4.xx+ CFWs. It will still work if a higher update is released also.
If you have a Nand model PS3, you can use the validating dumps steps, and patching tools from this guide. But to see how to
setup your NAND flasher and what apps to use to read and write, I suggest using this guide.
All files needed are linked in the guide. So you can download them as you go along when you need them.
If you want to Fast Dual Boot OFW and CFW, you can follow this guide after you have successfully got to CFW with this
guide.
You can also follow this guide if you don't have the limited edition, that comes with the eSATA station. If you are using just the
flasher, you will not have anywhere to plug in your hard drive.
But don't worry, the HDD does not need to be plugged in. When the guide says boot to XMB, just boot to the "cannot find
storage device" screen. Before you do Chapter 2, Part 1, Step 13, uninstall your flasher, replace thermal compound, rebuild
your PS3, and then continue with the guide.
If you are having trouble, feel free to ask questions in the thread. I or another member will be glad to help you.
If having problems, you should also read through the E3 page on ps3devwiki. It will show you solutions to your ERROR
CODES, etc.
I suggest if you are going to follow this guide, to take your time and read everything carefully a few times before starting.
Here is some important information that you should read. Some things in this spoiler may seem scattered, but is good to read
to learn some things about the process. Just remember the most important thing is to get multiple, identical VALID dumps,
before you start Chapter 2. The red text in the spoiler below are notes I added.
1. Validation of good dumps to prevent permabricks (also to make sure your clip is still
ok) : http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Validating_flash_dumps If you follow my easy validation in Chapter 1, you will not have to
worry about pemabricking your PS3. But still good to get familiar with how to manually validate a dump.
Importance: high priority imo, there is NO undo or debrick after it is flashed. E3 has /some/ checks (e.g. it checks metldr
header to look for nondowngradeable model), but it is known to fail in most other checks.
If you have trouble with Validation steps, upload it somewhere + visit IRC ef.net #ps3downgrade where me and others do this
regulary and post the link.
3. Samsung (multiconsole) update for being able to use E3 universal is breifly mentioned, (not the why though), Use Samsung
update to use your E3 flasher on multiple PS3s. If you are going to permanently install your flasher, then feel free to use a
newer update.
5. Marriage/working BD logic board is needed for QA (no need to do button toggle for dehash btw), install packages and
running games, and solving it:http://www.mediafire.com/?d3hphugs4ld8uxc You will need a married blu ray logic board to
complete the guide. Unless you use a noBD CFW. Also, the button combo for QA is only to verify that you enabled it, and
didn't disable it if it was already previously enabled.
Good luck!
correctly intsall
I am going to assume everyone knows how to install there flasher. There are many guides on this already.
If you do not know how to install your flasher correctly go here.
Make sure to tape the clip down to your nor chip and where it connects to the e3 card. Some models have a transistor in the
way of the clip. To solve this problem you need to shave off a little plastic from the clip, to allow it to fit flush to the
motherboard.
If you receive errors when trying to make your backup, most likely the clip does not have good contact with the chip.
Look here to see how I modified my clip. It fits on every model now.
For a detailed description of how I get valid dumps on the first try almost everytime read this
post:http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php...l=1#post886901
Soldering the E3 linker is more reliable than the clip. If you are go
d at soldering, this would be the way to go. You won't have to worry about modifying the cl
VER-001 BOARD
JSD-001 & SUR-001
DYN-001
Part 2 Make some bios backups.
NOTE: If this is not your first time following this guide. You do not have to update the flasher again. Updating the flasher is
only needed once, with the Samsung 10.28 update.bin, you can use the flasher on multiple PS3s.
WARNING: THIS WILL ONLY BE A SURE WAY TO VALIDATE YOUR DUMP, IF THE PS3 IS ON OFW AND BEFORE THAT
WAS ON OFW!
CHAPTER 2
Part 1 Downgrade
Choose a method:
WARNING: If Minimum version checker said your PS3 can only go to 3.56, You have to choose noFSM Method and
choose a. in step 13!
noFSM METHOD - No FSM dongle needed, and will not format your HDD :)
1. After making your backups continue here and leave your PS3 on. There is no need to reboot.
If you patched your dump with the validation guide in Chapter 1, you can skip to step 7.
2. Download PS3 Flash_Tool v4.81.rar and extract to your Desktop if you haven't already earlier in the guide.
If your firmware version is 4.81, it will allow your PS3 to boot to the XMB after patching. You can still use 4.81
Flash tool if your PS3 is on a lower or higher version, only after flashing it will boot to a recovery screen
instead. Don't panic. From there you can install the CFW. It doesn't matter what version OFW your PS3 is on.
(If on higher version, you would need the same or higher CFW version. If there is no CFW version out yet, use
rogero downgrader instead.)
3. Extract to Desktop or where ever you like.
4. Drag and drop the bkpps3.bin onto ps3_dump_checker.exe
5. The program will open, validate (Hopefully you already validated above. But at least this may tell you if you
missed something.), and ask if you want to patch it. Say yes and wait for it to apply the patches.
6. Now there will be a new file named bkpps3_patched.bin.
7. Delete all files from your sd card and put the bkpps3_patched.bin on it, renamed to bkpps3.bin
8. Put the sd card in the flasher.
9. Put all switches down on flasher. And press the red reset button under the esata plug on the faceplate.
10. Press start on flasher, and wait for blue leds to light up 1 by 1. When done lights will alternate flash.
[You will need the blu ray drive and the HDD, attached for the next steps. So if you are going to remove the
flasher, now would be the time to do so. Rebuild and change the thermal compound, with Artic Silver 5.
11. Reboot the PS3 or simply turn it on.
12. If your PS3 is on 4.80, it will boot to the XMB. If your PS3 is not on 4.80, it will boot to "please connect
controller screen" and after connecting the controller you will see a recovery screen. Like I already said, don't
panic if you see the recovery screen.
WARNING: If Minimum version checker said your PS3 can only go to 3.56, You have to choose a. in the next step![*]Choose
a. or b. ----- a. = if you just want to get to the latest CFW, or b.= for going to OFW 3.55 or lower. Option b. can also be used if a
newer OFW has been released, and a new CFW version has not been released yet.
a. Download a 4.81 CFW like mine here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/9t9cg9...0+4.81+CFW.rar. Latest rebug is REBUG
4.80.1 REX but keep an eye there for new one to be released, and install from XMB -> Settings -> System Update, or if you
patched for a different version and see the "please connect controller screen" then CONNECT THE CONTROLLER! and
install a 4.81 CFW by pressing start and select.
NOTE - The folder structure on your FAT32 USB drive should look like this: root:PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP (Make sure
your PC is not hiding extensions)
After it is done installing, you are now on CFW. If you installed REBUG 4.80.1 REX, Navigate to the game column and open
Package Manager. Choose Install Packages and PS3 Hard Disk. Click on rebug toolbox .pkg to install. Open Rebug Toolbox
and enable Qa Flag, also enable Cobra and Webman. Then reboot the PS3 (full on/off).
If you installed a 4.81 CFW, but want to go to a lower CFW version, you will need to enable qa flag. Either do so with rebug
toolbox, or you can by downloading 4.xx_toggle_qa.pkg, and putting it on the root of your FAT32 USB drive. Then install from
Install Package Files, and run the app. The PS3 will go to a black screen, and there will be no beeps. Then it will return to the
XMB. To verify that Qa Flag is enabled, navigate to Network settings (only hover over it, do not enter) and press
L1,L2,L3,R1,R2, and down on the d-pad. (Hit all buttons at the same time)
Now more options will appear in your menu. Don't change any settings in the debug settings, if you don't know what you are
doing.
You are done, and would only need to install any homebrew apps you want. First one I would suggest isthe latest multiMan.
Here is a beginners guide on how to use it: http://gbatemp.net/threads/multiman-...-guide.291170/
b. If you are wanting to downgrade and put the PS3 on OFW 3.55, install3.55_Rogero_Dowgrader_RSOD.PUP, from XMB ->
Settings -> System Update, or if you patched for a different version and see the "please connect controller screen"
then CONNECT THE CONTROLLER! and install 3.55_Rogero_Dowgrader_RSOD.PUP
NOTE - The folder structure on your FAT32 USB drive should look like this: root:PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
FSM METHOD = Downgrade to Rogero v3.7 - FSM dongle required, and will format your HDD
1. After making your backups continue here and leave your PS3 on. There is no need to reboot.
2. Download Rogero's PS3 Nor Dump Patcher v0.01.rar
3. Extract to Desktop or where ever you like.
4. Put your bkpps3.bin in the PS3 Nor Dump Patcher v0.01 folder.
5. Drag your bkpps3.bin onto the PS3 Nor Dump Patcher v0.01.exe application.
6. Wait for the app to apply the 3 patches.
7. When it is done, you will now have a file named bkpps3.patched.bin
8. Copy bkpps3.patched.bin to your empty sd card and rename to bkpps3.bin
9. Safely remove sd card from PC and insert into e3 flasher.
10. Make sure you have nothing plugged in the USB slots.
11. Put all switches down on flasher. And press the red reset button under the esata plug on the faceplate.
12. Press start on flasher, and wait for blue leds to light up 1 by 1. When done lights will alternate flash.
13. Reboot PS3 from XMB.
14. On boot you should see "please connect controller screen"
15. DO NOT CONNECT CONTROLLER!
16. TURN OFF POWER BY SWITCH OR PULL POWER CABLE.
17. Insert your downgrade dongle in the right USB port.
18. Plug in power cable or switch back on.
19. Press POWER then EJECT in that order within a split second. and wait for the PS3 to shut off by itself.
Note-Step 1 and Step 2 folders are inside FACTORY/SERVICE MODE folder from downgrade any pack.
20. Place Lv2diag.self and Rogero_V3.7_PS3UPDAT.PUP onto a USB Flash drive and rename
Rogero_V3.7_PS3UPDAT.PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP.
21. Replace the downgrade dongle with the flash drive in the farthest right USB port.
22. Turn on your PS3. Wait. In about 3-5 minutes your PS3 will shut off.
23. Take the flash drive back to the computer and quick format to fat32.
24. Place Lv2diag.self (this Lv2diag.self is not the same as the one in the previous step) onto the flash drive.
25. Put the flash drive back into the farthest right port of the PS3, turn on and wait, in about 30 - 45 seconds it will
shut down again.
26. Take out the flash drive, then turn on your PS3. The first thing you will see is SONY when your PS3 boots up.
You will have to connect the controller and set the date, time, etc...
27. Now you need to repeat Chapter 1 Part 2 Make some bios backups. This is IMPORTANT in case you brick
while installing other firmwares. So if you brick on 3.55 you can restore back to 3.55, instead of having to do all
the steps above again.
Part 2 QA flag
DO NOT INSTALL A FIRMWARE LOWER THAN WHAT CAME NEW WITH YOUR PS3!
Now you are on CFW, and the first homebrew app I would suggest is the latest multiMan. Here is a beginners guide on how to
use it: http://gbatemp.net/threads/multiman-...-guide.291170/
You can substitute any OFW in Chapter 2-Part 3-step 2., as long as it is not lower than what your console came with new.
It is best to leave Qa Flag toggled on. You can just leave it toggled on and delete the app, if you like.
Or if you are trying to put the PS3 on OFW 3.55, that is not modified at all: after you have completed the guide, toggle Qa flag
off, and install OFW 3.55. Note: you must be on CFW 3.55 to do that.
Now you are on CFW, and the first homebrew app I would suggest is the latest multiMan. Here is a beginners guide on how to
use it: http://gbatemp.net/threads/multiman-...-guide.291170/
Hopefully everything went smoothly, and you are now on CFW. But if something didn't go right, whether it was your power
went out while flashing, or you were a dummy and didn't validate your dump. There is still a chance you can recover your
bricked PS3. If you do have a valid backup dump, you can most likely recover it.
To do so, follow this guide. If you have a valid dump and bricked, you can skip to step 6.
I would like to thank the users that helped me figure this out. I may miss a couple because they weren't all from this site.
Thanks to

Here are my guides for installing the latest 4.xx CFWs on your PS3:
If you're on OFW higher than 3.55, you CAN'T install CFW directly! You need to check if your model is old enough to
be hackable (CECH25XX or lower which includes [all Fats] and [Slims older than June 2011]). If you're lucky enough
and it is hackable, you can use a hardware flasher (NOR Guide | NAND Guide) to dump your 3.56+ flash, patch it and
re-flash it before you can install CFW using the guides below. If your PS3 is not hackable (CECH25XX or higher which
includes [all Super Slims] and [Slims newer than June 2011]), you CAN'T install CFW at all. Your only option would be
to install an ODE to be able to run homebrew and backups.
If you're already on CFW, you can always start with the 2 (optional) steps below before switching/upgrading to the
CFW of your choice:
Dump your NOR/NAND Flash:
1. Download and install the latest version of multiMAN (CEX) from the link above
2. Plug in a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive into the right USB port
3. Launch multiMAN under the Game column
4. Go to mmOS > Press on any file > Open in HEX viewer > PressSELECT >
Press START > Export GameOS LV2: Select No > Export HV LV1: Select No > Export
FLASH: Select Yes
This creates a backup of your NOR/NAND flash so that you can recover using a hardware flasher in case of a (highly
unlikely) brick. It is recommended to do it every time you upgrade/downgrade your CFW just in case something goes wrong.
Once you retrieve your Root Key, you can delete eEID RKDumper from your XMB as it is not needed anymore.
If you're on a CEX FW, you have to install the REX Edition. If you're on a DEX FW, you have to install the D-REX
Edition.
If you're on 3.55 or lower OFW, or a hardware flasher patched 3.56+ OFW, or any CFW of the same version or lower,
you can install the latest Rebug CFW from XMB by following the guide below:
1. Download the latest Rebug REX/D-REX from the link at the top
2. Verify the md5 hash with @DEFAULTDNB's PPC+
3. Rename the PUP to PS3UPDAT.PUP
4. Put it on your FAT32 formatted Flash Drive under PS3\UPDATE
5. REMOVE any original game disk from the drive and make sure NO game is mounted
6. Plug in the Flash Drive, go to System Update and Update via Storage Media. Make sure you DON'T
Update via Internet or else you would risk installing OFW >3.55!
7. Go to Package Manager > Install Package Files > PS3 System Storage and install Rebug Toolbox
8. Launch it under the Game column
9. Go to Utilities and change Toggle QA Flag to Enabled. This is to ensure easier and safer downgrading
10. Go to Selector and change System Mode to Rebug, this will activate the built-in spoofer (if needed) to
prevent accidental updates to OFW >3.55 and allow PSN access (with ban risk)
11. (Optional) Change XMB Operation Mode to Retail and Debug Menu Type to CEX QA to ensure you have
the Retail menus instead of the Debug menus which you probably won't need
Notes:
Make sure you use the latest version of your backup manager (multiMAN or others) because older
versions are not compatible with the latest CFW or use webMAN as per this post.
Make sure you install the Rebug Toolbox pkg included inside Package Manager because older versions
are not compatible with this CFW.
You might need reActPSN higher than v3.20 to be compatible with the latest CFW.
This CFW can only be installed on top of CEX FWs. If you're on a DEX FW, you have to convert to CEX before you
can install this CFW. If you don't know what CEX/DEX is, you're most likely on a CEX FW.
If you're on 3.55 or lower OFW, or a hardware flasher patched 3.56+ OFW, or any CFW of the same version or lower,
you can install the latest HABIB CFW from XMB by following the guide below:
1. Download the latest HABIB CFW from the link at the top
Notes:
You can enable QA after installation using HABIB's new tool.
Make sure you use the latest version of your backup manager (multiMAN or others) because older
versions are not compatible with the latest CFW or use webMAN as per this post.
You might need reActPSN higher than v3.20 to be compatible with this CFW.
