CONCORD BLUE
CONCORD BLUE BACKGROUND
Founded by its Chairman, Christopher Charlie
Thannhaeuser, in 2002
CB is a privately held renewable energy technology
firm with approximately 200 employees including
more than 60 engineers.
Headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany with offices
in India, UAE and the USA (business development
and project management)
CB is the inventor, owner, engineer & licensor for the
environmentally friendly Concord Blue Reformer
waste to energy technology
CONCORD BLUE
The CBR is a world-wide patented &
patent pending waste to energy
process.

The CBR is an advanced steam

thermolysis technology using staged
reforming.

CB develops turn key waste-to-energy

solutions for private industries,
municipalities, federal governments
and energy project developers.

CB sells integrated systems to third

parties and also participates in
ownership and operations of selected
projects
CONCORD BLUE TECHNOLOGY
PROCESS:
Staged Reforming: 3 spatially
separated vessels.
Waste material is segregated &
dried, usually with waste heat.
Ceramic Beads used as the
indirect heat carrier, flowing
downward by gravity and
returned to the top by a
mechanical lift.
Ceramic beads first flow to the gas
phase steam reforming vessel,
where the gas is purified & most
tars are converted
From there, the beads flow to the
thermolyser, where waste
material is decomposed to about
80% gas & 20% char.
Char and ceramic beads are
separated
Char and/or syngas are then fully
oxidized to provide heat to the
ceramic beads
CONCORD BLUE TECHNOLOGY

PROCESS:

Ceramic heat carrier balls

used to achieve a constant,
thorough and equal heat
transfer to the waste
material.

The flue gas from the

char/gas furnace is used to
the heat carrier balls.
HOW IS CONCORD BLUE DIFFERENT?
Modular, scalable with proven fuel flexibility
Air and oxygen-free process, assisted by
nitrogen purge system
Very low-tar raw syngas out of the gas
reformer
Fully automated system with adjustments to
the steam injection rate, circulating bead
mass, bead circulation rate and zonal Waste to Clean Syngas

temperatures to treat different quality

feedstocks or to customize syngas
CBR syngas, after cleaning, is suitable for
direct combustion in syngas-certified
reciprocating engines or as a feedstock for
hydrogen purification or liquid
fuels/chemicals production

Lockheed Martin recently announced their agreement with
Concord Blue USA, Inc., having chosen CB as their solid waste
conversion technology of choice
Lockheed Martin will provide CBR manufacturing and system
integration
Lockheed Martin will warrant delivery schedule and
acceptance test parameters
Lockheed Martin is CBs preferred engineering, procurement
and construction contractor for which they provide a full
completion wrap for all deliverables agreed during
acceptance.
Lockheed Martin will offer the CB solution to its industrial and
governmental customer base where appropriate
Concord Blues Global Market Approach
Work with local partners, selected using strict criteria
Master License Agreement gives partner the right to undertake
multiple projects in a defined area, each such project required
to secure a single site license

CB makes system sales globally to interested/qualified customers

Single site license for qualified projects

CB does sometimes participate as a project owner

Public Private Partnerships (PPP) through competitive tenders
Equity investment in self-developed projects
Equity investment as a participating owner in a third party
developed project
CONCLUSION
