    My Reflection

    Joshua B. Fernandez

    21st Century Literature from the Philippine and the world is a subject which requires a deep understanding

    to know the difference and significance of different literature in the world. It needs a critical thinking so that

    you will be able to appreciate the difference topics in this subject. In this subject you doesn’t only read

    variety of literature, however, it allows you to deduce the excerpt and the reason why the author write the

    certain piece.

    Before, I only just read the poems and stories and not paying attention on the pattern, the essence,

    elements and structure of it because I find them dull and boring but now through this subject, I’m not only

    focusing on reading it but I also critic the story, and knowing its essence. Before, I don’t even like to read

    some old books because I can’t relate to them and the covers are bad ,but now I’ve learned that it have

    historical past and it talks about the different problem in our society which is also relevant today. I’ve also

    appreciate the different literary pieces now because through them we can be able to know the past and

    learn from it.

    21st Literature doesn’t teach you on how to write a literature on 21st century, but it helps to you analyse,

    evaluate, and appreciate those literary pieces. It spreads awareness of our past, our historical background

    and our society. So let us show our concern to those literature as a debt of gratitude to them because

    through them, we are not here now.
