Parameter H – Professionalism

1. SYSTEM INPUTS AND PROCESSES

 The following Institutional Guidelines/Policies on Work Ethics,


Attendance in Classes, submission of Academic Reports and
Decorum are anchored in the University Code and Faculty Manual.
 Legal documents such as memorandum, resolutions and minutes
of the meeting contain policies on professionalism adopted by the
Institution (RA 6713 & Code of Ethics of the Profession) are strictly
complied.

2. IMPLEMENTATION
The system of supervision of faculty performance in the preparation of
instructional materials; formulating, updating, and enriching of syllabi;
class preparation; testing and evaluation of learning outcomes; and other
faculty related activities such as OJT, practicum, RLE, off-campus
teaching are strictly monitored by the program chairmen and the dean if
these activities are strictly implemented.

3. OUTCOMES
 Most of the faculty are permanently hired with 96% and only 4% are
temporarily hired.
 Most of the faculty are handling their specialized majors.
 The faculty are mostly master’s and doctorate degree holders. For
master’s degree it consists 63% of the total faculty population, 27%
for Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) and 10% for the Ed. D (Doctor in
Educational Management).
 Some of the faculty members are active in joining journalism and
one of them is Dr. May Nectar Cyril L. Tabares.
 The following faculty are recipient of institutional scholarship:

a. It is suggested that the university administration exert more efforts
to provide more incentives for overload teaching.
b. Encourage more elementary education faculty to do research and
extension activities and may be offered corresponding incentives.
c. The faculty manual should be published to institutionalize faculty
policies and standards.
d. There is a need to re-examine the distribution of faculty in their
participation to seminars and conferences especially those with
related fields of specialization.
e. It is recommended that additional documents be made available to
show that the faculty demonstrated knowledge f recent educational
trends/issues in the specific field of undergraduate teacher
education.
f. It is suggested that more allocation for faculty development be
given if budget warrants
