    1) Dengue virus is transmitted through the bite of an infected Aedes aegypti mosquito, which carries the virus in its salivary glands. 2) After entering the bloodstream through a mosquito bite, the virus replicates and stimulates the immune system, causing antibodies and white blood cells to respond. 3) The immune response causes leakage of fluid from blood vessels (capillary leakage), leading to complications like bleeding, shock, and death in severe cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever.
