Operation of Equipment:
Pre-Checks:
1 Check the Battery of the Equipment
- Open the cover and set the ON/OFF switch to "ON"
- Ready indicator should turn ON within approximately four seconds; if it does not turn ON,
2 Squeeze the aspirator bulb 8-10 times to purge the instrument with fresh air.
Note: Allow the bulb to completely inflate after each squeeze; if doesn’t deflate withibn fo

Calibration
6 Calibration Gas : 10% Iso-Butane + Remaining Nitrogen
Connect the adaptor to the Span Gas bottle.
Connect the Hose to the inlet point of the Gas Instrument
Connect the other end of the tube to the adaptor
Check the Gas supply is in the normal zone (green zone)
Check the reading of the Gas Meter. If not 10% it may be adjusted using the Adjustment sc

- Flush fresh air through the instrument.
- Adjust rheostat knob until meter pointer rests at zero
Gas Measuremnt:
- The explosimeter is now ready for operation.
- Place end of sampling line at the point where the sample is to be taken
- Readjust meter pointer to zero if necessary by turning the rheostat knob
- Aspirate sample through instrument until highest reading is obtained
-
Approx 5 squeezes of the bulb are sufficient to give max deflection . If a
sampling line is used add 2 squeezes for each ten (10 ) feet of line.
- A deflection of the meter pointer between zero and 100%
