Navigate to the parameter fields, and enter the values according to your testbrequirements:
Range: output range
Note: The DC 400A output range provides maximum current 100 A.
Itest: nominal test current
Tmeas: actual ambient temperature
Tref: this is the reference temperature at which the manufacturer
measured the taps’ winding resistance values. Generally, this value is
specified in the transformer’s data sheet. The winding resistance value at this
temperature always represents the nominal resistance value.
Tap: Data entry field to enter the transformer’s tap number for each
measurement. The possible entry range of -999 ... 0 ... 999
allows for the first digit to be used as a phase identifier.
Example for 3 phases:
– phase L1 (A): -101, 100, 101, 102, 103...
– phase L2 (B): -201, 200, 201, 202, 203...
– phase L3 (C): -301, 300, 301, 302, 303...
Example for 1 phase:
– phase: -001, 000, 001, 002, 003...
Tap combo box:
The selection made at this combo box specifies the counting
order of the taps in the measurement table’s column "Tap".
Possible selections are "Count up", "Count down" and "OFF".
The number specified at the data entry field "Tap" (see above)
represents the starting number.
"OFF" means, all lines in the measurement table show the
same tap number.
When results are measured, the AUTO KEEP RESUL T menu key is available.
After pressing the AUTO KEEP RESUL T menu key, CPC 100 waits until
stable results with a deviation less than 0.1% within the time period of
10 seconds are achieved. After then, a new result line is added and the next

Navigate to the parameter fields, and enter the values according to your test requirements:
Vprim: nominal primary voltage with the option "value x 1/√3"
(can be set individually for each measurement)
Vsec: nominal secondary voltage with the option "value x 1/√3"
(can be set individually for each measurement)
Ratio: nominal ratio, calculated from Vprim nom / Vsec nom
here: (110000.0V / √3) / 10000V = 6.3509
Note that this value is automatically calculated. It does not
need to be entered. If Vprim is set individually for each
measurement, the ratio value differs for each tap.
Vtest: nominal primary injection voltage.
f: output frequency
Tap: Data entry field to enter the transformer’s tap number for each
measurement. If the transformer’s ratio was specified on the
Settings page, the Vprim and Vsec values for
the tap are taken from there. The possible entry range from
-999…999 allows the first digit to be used as a phase identifier.

The Settings page allows adding the transformer’s ratio per tap as follows. After
pressing the ADD TAP menu key first, the Vprim and Vsec values for the first
tap are taken from the main page. Change the tap number to the lowest tap of
the transformer under test (e.g. –16 or 0). Add the next tap by pressing the
ADD TAP menu key and enter the corresponding Vprim and Vsec values. After
then, pressing the ADD TAP menu key repeatedly adds more taps with a step
calculated from the values for the first two taps. After adding all taps, press the
MA I N PAGE menu key to transfer the data to the main page.
Note: After the transformer’s ratio was specified on the Settings page for one
phase, by pressing the SAVE A S DEFAULT menu key you can save the data.
Then a new test card for the next phase will be inserted with the transformer’s ratio
preset.

Use the RWinding test card to measure the resistance of a power transformer’s
winding. To do so, loop the I DC current signal from CPC 100’s 6A DCoutput via
IAC/DC as shown in figure 8 and inject it into the transformer’s winding.
IAC/DC measures the injected current, and V DC input measures the voltage
generated at the transformer’s winding. From these values the winding
resistance is calculated.
Alternatively, inject the current directly from 400A DC output (see figure 9).

Due to the significant time span needed for the transformer’s inductance to finish
its loading process, this test evaluates the deviation of measured values within
a time interval of 10 seconds. The winding resistance is continually measured
and stored in CPC 100’s internal memory. The calculated difference between
the maximum and minimum measured values in % within the last 10 seconds is
displayed.
Furthermore, this test comprises the option to take a temperature compensation
for copper (Cu) into consideration
Navigate to the parameter fields, and enter the values according to your test

As the first step, before you set a CPC 100 / CP TD1 composite into operation,
link CPC 100, CP TD1 and, if applicable, the equipment trolley with a min. 6 mm²
grounding cable as displayed.
Never use the CPC 100 / CP TD1 composite without a solid connection to ground.
1. Switch off CPC 100 at the main power switch.
2. With trolley:
Properly connect the CPC 100 and CP TD1 grounding terminals to the
trolley’s ground bar. Connect the ground bar to earth. All grounding cables
minimum 6mm².
Without trolley:
Properly connect the CPC 100 and CP TD1 grounding terminals to earth.
Both cables minimum 6mm².
3. Connect CP TD1’s "BOOSTER IN" to CPC 100’s "EXT. BOOSTER" with the
OMICRON supplied booster cable.
4. Connect CP TD1’s "SERIAL" to CPC 100’s "SERIAL" with the OMICRON
supplied data cable. This cable also provides the power supply for CP TD1.
5. Pull out the measuring cables from the cable drum and connect the test
object to CP TD1’s measuring inputs IN A and IN B.
6. Pull out the high voltage cables from the cable drum and connect the test
object to the CP TD1’s high voltage output.
7. Make sure that all cables are screwed tight.
8. Switch on CPC 100.
9. Selecting the TanDelta test card from any of the CPC 100’s menus
TRANSFORMER, OTHERS, CT or VT automatically turns on CP TD1. If
no CP TD1 is connected to CPC 100, an error message occurs.
10.Set up your measurement in the TanDelta test card.
11.Press CPC 100’s I/O (test start/stop) push-button.

The B-a and C-a voltages are equal to the voltages between phases of the power source.
. knowing the source characteristics, draw the ABC voltage triangle to scale
. since the HV and LV systems have a common point at A-a, the voltage pairs measured at

- meanwhile, to test the adjuster winding and the load tap changer, perform a tap changing
cycle. Take care not to exceed the mains capacity
CAUTION
At first, when power is applied and after several hours of energizing, a Buchholz relay fault
may occur due to air or gaz entrapped during oil filling. In such a case, bleed this air or gas
from the Buchholz relay and where applicable (for an Atmoseal type conservator), the oil
gas separation compartment. Check if this gas is nonflammable (otherwise, suspect an
internal fault and contact the transformer manufacturer's representative. In such a case, DO
NOT ENERGIZE AGAIN WITHOUT THE MANUFACTURER'S APPROVAL.)
Progressively set the transformer under load. During this switching to the mains, check the
temperature rise with reference to the load and the equipment operation.
During AC generator no-load tests or overvoltage tests, do not apply a voltage 5 % above
the rating nor a frequency 2.5 % lower than the line frequency (VDE 0532/8.24) to a voltage
transformer (to avoid over-saturation).
