Increase your qualifications within the security industry. This 1 day, Tactical Use of Force
Training Program will ensure you receive proper training and knowledge in the use of
handcuffing and baton, as well as Basic Self Defense Tactics.
Increase your qualifications in the security industry, and take our Use of Force Training
and Certification –Tactical Handcuffing and Baton course. All security guards need to be
able to defend themselves and others, and you’ll receive the proper training and
knowledge from our one-day use of force course. You’ll learn how to use handcuffs,
batons, as well as some useful self defense techniques.
Our Use of Force course will help to clearly define the limits to which security guards are
entitled to use force, so that you can stay within the appropriate legal guidelines while
carrying out your everyday responsibilities.
Course Outline
Our one day intensive Use of Force Training and Certification program will cover
everything from positional asphyxia to non-compliant cuffing. Here is a full list of the
topics that will be covered during the program:
Handcuffing
While handcuffs are generally associated with police officers, there are situations in
security work where you may need to detain someone.
You will learn handcuffing techniques and non-compliant cuffing techniques that follow
industry standards and fall within the law. You never want to hurt anyone if you don’t
have to, so the techniques you will learn are designed to protect the restrained person as
much as possible, while allowing you to protect and defend yourself accordingly.
Batons
A baton can be a useful tool for security guards when it comes to protecting yourself, as
well as others. There are laws for all tools that are used for security, and batons are no
exception — there are regulations as to how and in what cases it can be used. As a
security guard, you want to be sure not to misuse any tools that have the potential to
cause harm to others. Our instructors will teach you how to properly use batons, and the
appropriate situation in which they should be used.
Self-Defence
You’ll find that in most cases in which you need to use force, it is in an act of self
defence. In our Use of Force program you’ll gain an understanding of what is classified
as self defense, and the legalities around it. It’s important to not only learn when and how
to defend yourself, but you also want to ensure you’re not crossing any lines. It can be
difficult to decipher what’s appropriate and what’s not when it comes to protecting
yourself. Fortunately, you’ll learn helpful techniques that will keep you safe, as well as
those you’re protecting yourself from when you take our Use of Force course.
Knife Defence
It can be a scary and unnerving experience when you see someone being attacked with
a knife, and even more so if you’re the one that’s being attacked. When you enroll in our
Use of Force program, you’ll learn how to handle situations that involve knives, including
how to defend yourself and others against attackers, as well as how to attempt to disarm
them. It’s common to encounter dangerous situations when you’re a security guard, and
you should be prepared to handle every situation that’s thrown your way — our course
can help equip you with the skills you need.
