CONDUCT COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT

Me: 5 days prior to the conduct of assessment. I receive a call from the ac manager for
my availability to conduct competency assessment on DECEMBER 30, 2019 at Saint
Clare polytechnic school of Burauen, inc. so I visited the office to sign the appointment
and to check the assessment area. So, the tools, equipment and materials are ready. It
also meets the occupational health at safety requirements. The ventilation and electricity
is in accordance to the required wattage. The assessment workshop is ready for the
assessment.

“My dear panel of assessors I am now ready to perform Conduct Competency Assessment.”

Me: Good Morning. I am here to conduct competency assessment on AGRICULTURAL
CROPS PRODUCTION NC II

Preparation for the Candidates

 Good morning everyone! Before we start kindly all stand let us pray first. (Prayer…)
 I would like to introduce myself first. My name is __JESSICA JOY V. OPEŇA__, an
accredited Competency Assessor for__AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION
NCII_. I will be the one to assess you today.
 I would like to acknowledge the presence of Ms. PAMELA TORRES__, our TESDA
Representative. Good morning ma’am!!! Do not worry about her presence because she is
here to oversee the conduct of assessment and to check if the conduct of assessment is in
accordance with the competency assessment methodologies and procedures. She will not
assess you.
 Okay, before we start with the assessment proper. I will call your name one by one and once
your name is called, please come in front to submit your admission slip and sign on the
attendance sheet.

 I have here with me your accomplished Application Form and SAG. This is an indication
that you know and can perform all the units of competency enumerated for
AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION NC II.
 Now, I would like to welcome all of you to our Assessment Center for the assessment for
this qualification (amended). The purpose of this assessment is to determine the level of
your competency and for employment and promotion if ever you will be rated competent.
 The AGRICROP NCII qualification is composed of Basic, Common and Core
competencies. For our Basic, we have
1. PARTICIPATE IN WORKPLACE COMMUNICATION
2. WORK IN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT
3. PRACTICE CAREER PROFESSIONALISM
4. PRACTICE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES

2. USE FARM TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
3. PERFORM ESTIMATIONS AND CALCULATIONS
4. PROCESS FARM WASTES
5. PERFORM RECORD KEEPING

for our Core competencies, we have 9 units

1. PERFORM NURSERY OPERATIONS


2. PLANT CROPS
3. CARE AND MAINTAIN CROPS
4. CARRY-OUT HARVEST AND POSTHARVEST OPERATIONS

 The different tasks that you are going to perform for our assessment are housekeeping
duties, operating cash registry and money transaction, assist in selling and preparing
medicines, demonstrate practices on laboratory and manufacturing standards and follow
dispensing flow routines.

 The Evidences will be gathered through: written examination, demonstration and oral
questioning. We will have 20 % for our written, 70% for our demonstration and 10% for
our oral questioning, for the total of 100%. In order for you to pass you need to have a good
demonstration because it has the highest percentage/distribution. Understood?

 You will be also observe by the 4 dimension of Competency


 Task skill, how you perform the task
 Task Management skill, how you multi-task and finish the job on the given time
 Contingency management skill, on how you will manage in case of problems
 Job/Role Environment Skill, how you will perform with the standards

 Corroboration of all Evidence


 We have also the allowable and reasonable adjustment:
1. For those candidates who have different religion, for example non-Catholic, let me
know so you can be excused.
2. For those who have problems with health and with maintenance to be taken for a
scheduled time please inform me so that I will be able to know. &
3. For your personal necessity you can access our CR, right outside this room
 And of course you have also to follow the Dos and Don’ts. For our Dos we have;
1. Follow the security policy and procedure of the Assessment Center.
2. Follow the rules on the use of facilities
3. Observe the OHS
 For our Don’ts we have:
1. Using of Cell Phones during assessment is not allowed.
2. Leaving the premises of the AC without the consent of the Assessor or any Staff.
3. Loitering inside the premises of the AC.
 With regards to the result of assessment as candidate you have the right to appeal if you
have some questions with the result. Particularly to those who will fail on some other
competencies you’ll be issued an NYC based on the AGRICROP PRODUCTION training
regulation section 4 on the ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENT.
Your appeal should be in a form of a written document. It is to be done right after the
assessment and it is to be addressed to the AC Manager.
 So, if you are found to be not yet competent. Do not worry because you can apply for
reassessment at your own convenience in any of the Assessment centers. Since AGRICROP
PRODUCTIN NC II is project-based you should be reassessed with all the required
competencies stipulated in the qualification.

 If you pass in all the competencies you will be awarded with the NATIONAL
CERTIFICATE II. It will be issued to you after 3 working days after the assessment. It can
be claimed at the TESDA PO or at the Robinson 2nd floor Lingkod Pinoy. Just bring with
you the requirements needed: 50 pesos for the processing fee, one passport size ID with
collar and white background WITH NAME TAG and your CARS. The validity of your NC
is 5 years then you should renew it one month before the expiration date. The payment for
renewal is 100 and 20 for the Documentary Stamp.

 Now, with regards to the result of the assessment we observe strict confidentiality. The
result shall only be made available to the authorized personnel and the institution where
you had your actual training. In relation to this, the assessment package is kept on a safe
place. This is for the integrity of the assessment package. Above all may I request/ask all
the candidates to please refrain from giving away information that took place during the
assessment process.
 That is all about our orientation. Do you have any questions?

(Assessment Proper)

 Collection of evidence and making the assessment decision is done in 3 parts, we will
have written exam, demonstration and oral questioning
 I will give you an assign number ( give the numbers to the candidate)

 If you do not have any question or clarification, let us proceed to the assessment proper. So
everybody must be very ready now!
 Let us start first with the written examination. Here are the test questioners. You get one and
pass. Read and follow the directions given. I will give you 30 minutes to answer. Are you
done? Pls pass your paper
 Now let us proceed to the practical work area for the demonstration. Before we go there
please listen first. In our Practical work area, we have 9 different working stations which
correspond to the 9 core competencies of the qualification. Each station is duplicated into 9.
All are provided with the necessary tools, equipment and materials needed for the
compliance of the outputs required in the unit of competency.
 Candidate 1 will do the demonstration first next is candidate 2 and candidate 3.
 I am going to distribute to you the specific instruction. Please read it carefully. Do you have
any question? If you have questions please ask it now because as soon as the assessment
begin you can no longer ask. I would like also to remind you that after the demonstration
we will have the oral questioning.
 Okay, Just bring your specific instruction for your reference. I will give you 25 minutes to
perform each task. You start now!
(The assessor must observe with the rating sheet and assessors guide)

 Mr. Castroverde (candidate number 1), are you done? Since your done with your
demonstration, proceed to the waiting area
 Mr. Ordones (candidate number 2)_, since you are done already with all the required tasks.
Proceed now to the Assessment Area for the Oral Questioning.

 How do you feel about the assessment?
 (candidate) I feel nervous but its ok, I think I did a good job, and perform the task
asked to the best that I can.
 You did a great job. You performed all the tasks well. My observation co-inside with
your opinion, you are competent to perform or rather demonstrate adequate
knowledge on methods of fertilizer application . However you felt nervous and not
confident in performing as well as during the interview but you were able to answer
all the questions correctly. As I have summed up the result, you are indeed
competent. I will give you your CARS, sign it first. With regards to the issuance of
your National Certificate I have discussed it to you already during the orientation;
you can get it within 5 working days after the assessment. Do you have any
question? Here are your CARS. Congratulations!!!

 How are your feeling about the assessment?
 Candidate 2: I think I did it ok, I forget some steps but generally I think I was able
to perform the task.
 As what I have observed during the assessment. You are able to categorized the
methods of fertilizer application, however, you are not able to follow the sequence of
the procedures on using foliar sprayer. I observed that you have the potential but you
need an improvement. Please practice. As a result I found out that you are not yet
competent. Don’t worry because you can apply for reassessment at your own
convenience. If you have doubt with the result. You have the right to appeal. You can
submit your appeal to the AC Manager.
