DRIVING THE MACHINE
ENGINE SPEED CONTROL
• Pedal Mode
This mode suits normal travel operation best. Adjusting
the stroke of the forward/reverse travel pedal controls
the engine speed. When the forward/reverse pedal is
stepped on, the engine speed increases. When the
pedal is returned to neutral, the engine speed is reduced.
After the engine speed is set to run at slow idle speed by
fully turning the engine control dial counterclockwise be-
fore traveling the machine, when traveling is started by
stepping the forward/reverse travel pedal, the engine
speed increases in proportion to the pedal stroke. When
the pedal is returned to neutral to temporarily stop the
machine, the engine speed is reduced to slow idle speed,
decreasing fuel consumption and travel noise level.
• Dial Mode
This mode suits traveling at the job site best. Only the
engine control dial can control the engine speed irre-
spective of how much the forward/reverse travel pedal is
MCBB-01-014
stroked. The engine speed is kept constant while travel-
ing short distance in the same job site during operation
of the front attachment, no readjustment of the engine
speed is required. However, the maximum travel speed
is slightly slower than that in the pedal mode.
• Creeper Mode
The machine can travel at very slow speed. The engine
speed is controlled with the engine control dial only.
Even if the engine control dial is turned fully clockwise to
set the engine speed to fast idle speed and the for-
ward/reverse travel pedal is fully stepped on, the ma-
chine can travel at very slow speed. All functions other
than traveling can be operated at normal speed in this
mode. Therefore, it is very convenient to engage in front
attachment work while moving the machine at very slow
speed.

DRIVING THE MACHINE
Precautions
1. Check the tires for any damage, such as scratches,
cracks, etc..
Check the pressure of each tire.
Check for obstructions or danger around the
machine.
2. Raise stabilizers/blade.
3. Position the front attachment to the front of the
machine, then insert the swing lock lever.
4. When traveling on a public road, position the front
attachment as illustrated below, then place the pilot
control shutt-off lever in the “LOCK” position.
Starting
5. Be sure that brake oil pressure gauge needle
remains within the white range.
6. Check for safety around the machine. Place the shift
lever to the drive or low position. Turn the brake
switch OFF to release the parking brake. Only the
210W’s engine speed (travel idle speed) will increase
-1
approx. 200 min (rpm) faster than the starting speed
at this time. Slowly step on the forward/reverse pedal
to start traveling. Use the accelerator pedal to accel-
erate or decelerate the travel speed.
7. In a safe place, confirm that the brakes function
properly.

For your safety and the safety of others, when driving
keep in mind the following instructions, and obey all traf-
fic regulations .
CAUTION:
• Should you have a flat tire while driving, hold
the steering wheel tightly, and stop the ma-
chine gradually. Do not apply the brake sud-
denly. Doing so may cause the machine to tip
over or accidents involving your machine
and/or following vehicles.
• Do not try to get on or off the machine while
traveling. Allow only the operator on the ma-
chine. Keep riders off.

the local highway laws, and confirm that the overall width,
height, length, and weight are all within allowable limits.
When any dimension exceeds local highway laws, obtain
special variance from the proper authorities or disassemble
the machine into smaller units for transporting.
4-1
TRANSPORTATION
LOADING/UNLOADING THE MACHINE
Load or unload the machine on a solid level ground.
Ramp/Transportation Platform
1. Clean the surface of the trailer deck, ramps, and/or
transportation platforms. If oil, mud, and/or ice is present,
the machine may slip, causing personal injury and/or
death.
2. Wedge the trailer wheels so that the trailer cannot move.
3. Use ramps with sufficient length, width, and strength.
Securely connect the ramps to the trailer with an inclination
of 15° or less.
4. When using a transportation platform, check that it has a
sufficient width and strength with an inclination of 15° or
less.

steer the machine on a slope. Personal injury or
death may result due to loss of machine stability. If
the travel direction must be changed on a slope,
move the machine to the flat ground. Then, after
changing the travel direction, re-climb the slope.
• When the machine is equipped with the front
attachment: Take care to prevent the machine from Less than 15°
turning over. Before rotating the upperstructure on
a trailer, turn the brake switch to either the P MCBB-06-003
(parking) or S (work) position and lock the axle.
• When the upperstructure is required to rotate on a
trailer deck, turn the brake switch to the P (parking)
position and lock the axle. After fully rolling in the
arm and holding the arm-tip 0.5 m above the trailer
deck, slowly rotate the upperstructure with extra
care so that the machine doesn’t tip over.
• When the machine is not equipped with the front
attachment, don’t swing the upperstructure. Failure
to obey may cause the machine to turn over.
Less than 15°
1. When loading the machine with the front attachment,
travel the machine forward onto the trailer with the MCBB-06-004
front attachment positioned in the front. When loading
the machine without the front attachment, back the
machine onto the trailer.

of the machine aligns with that of the trailer.
3. Slowly drive on ramps.
4. After moving the machine up to the specified position,
be sure to lock the axle. Then, fully roll in the arm and
hold the arm-tip 0.5 m above the trailer deck, slowly
rotate the upperstructure 180°.
5. Lower the front attachment onto the wooden block
laid on the trailer.
6. Stop the engine. Remove the key from the key switch.
7. Operate the control levers several times to release
any remaining pressure from the cylinders.
8. Place the pilot control shut-off lever in the LOCK
position.
9. Be sure to close the cab windows, overhead window,
and door to prevent entry of wind and rain into the cab.
Put a cover on the exhaust opening.
