2.4 Submittals

A. General Applications

1. Supplier shall submit data, as indicated in attachments to PO (Purchase Order), to

Marafiq. Drawings, where required, shall be fully dimensioned. All data must

permission to deviate from the requirements of this specification. Refer to
attachments to PO for a detailed listing of required submittals.

2. Supplier shall submit certificates of conformance stating that each shock arrestor and
all its accessories conform to all applicable specifications and standards. These
certificates shall include Supplier's authorized agent’s signature and title.

c. Supplier's welding procedure.

5. A copy of the complete packing list shall be securely affixed to each separate
shipping container.

2.5 Quality Assurance

A. Testing

1. The following qualification tests shall be performed on a typical unit of each type
and design. Test results shall be signed by the Supplier's authorized representative
and submitted to Marafiq for review.

a. The shock arrestor shall be subjected to a dynamic cycling test between the
limits of the design frequency at the design load. When subjected to the design
load alternately in tension and compression, the total displacement between the
mounting points of the shock arrestor shall not exceed twice the engagement
tolerance.

b. The shock arrestor shall be subjected to a design life test with the unit extended
and retracted through a minimum of 80 percent of the full design stroke for
40,000 cycles.

c. The shock arrestor shall be subjected to at least 150 percent of the design load or
a faulted load test in both tension and compression. The shock arrestor shall be
examined for any damage that might have occurred during the test.

2. The following acceptance test shall be performed on each shock arrestor:

a. Each shock arrestor shall be tested to confirm that it operates freely over the
total design stroke.

b. The lost motion of each shock arrestor shall be measured and recorded, and shall
not exceed engagement tolerance.

c. The force required to initiate motion in both tension and compression in the
shock arrestor shall be measured in 25 mm (1 inch) increments along the stroke
and recorded.
