    Narrative Report
    Metrobank MTAP DEPED Math Challenge

     The Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MTAP), was


    organized to serve as an appropriate venue where Mathematics teachers can
    come together, interact with one another and share each other's expertise in
    the pursuit of excellence in mathematics education. Among the projects well–
    known throughout the Country are the Metrobank–MTAP–DepEd Math
    Challenge Talented Students in Mathematics.
    With this, for the pursuit of striving of excellence in the field of Mathematics in
    the Division of La Union, the DEPED La Union District 1 was task to organized
    an annual Metrobank MTAP DEPED Challenge that held in Don Eulogio De
    Guzman Memorial National High School last January 17, 2020. The said
    activity was attended by the selected coaches who teach Mathematics with
    their selected students to compete in the said academic competition from
    private and public schools. The La Union Colleges of Science and Technology is
    one of an educational institution who attend in this momentous events and
    compete through the whole duration of the said academic contest. MTAP is
    indeed a potent academic tools in improving not only the teachers’ professional
    competencies but students’ performance as well. With the collaboration of
    many other colleagues from different parts of the country, especially the
    Division Supervisors who are concerned about the performance of their
    teachers and students, the MTAP is confident that the country will manage to
    upgrade the quality of its mathematics education.
    With regards to these academic competition, even though we didn’t excel, the
    students enjoy the competition because some of them are first timer to compete
    in MTAP and I know that the student gain more confidence and trust after the
    said competition.
    To wit, here are the following contestants in the different grade levels in the
    Junior High School in our school:
