    Cement Polymer Composite Coating system for


    corrosion protection of reinforcing and prestressing steels.
    CECRI Process:

    The coating system consists of a primer and a sealing coat.

    1 i. An improved formulation for a rapid setting primer useful for corrosion


    2 protection of reinforcing and prestressing steel.
    Indian Patent No.IN 186255 ;( 481/DEL/93 dated 13.05.93.)
    1 ii. An improved coating composition for corrosion protection of
    2 reinforcing steel and prestressing steel.
    Indian Patent No.185520 ( 259/DEL/92 dated 25.03.92.)

    Application:
    i. Reinforced concrete structures/bridges.
    1 ii. Prestressed concrete bridges and structures.
    2 iii. Offshore and marine concrete structures.
    3 iv. Industrial structures.

    Advantages:
    1 i. It is a factory process amenable for field repair and rehabilitation.
    2 ii. Coating has high flexibility.
    3 iii. Coating can withstand high tensile stresses and hence applicable to
    prestressing strands.
    4 iv. As per ASTM Standards has good corrosion resistance and chemical
    resistance.
    5 v. It has good weathering resistance (UV resistance).
    6 vi. As per ASTM Standards, it is god abrasion resistance.

    Demand:

    Out of about 2 million tones per year of steel reinforcements being produced in
    this country, at least 0.5 million tones per year may need this technology.

    Commercial Status: So for the above technology has been licensed to 14 industries.
