IV. PROCEDURES
The teacher will present a PowerPoint presentation showing the following:

A. Reviewing previous lesson or Presenting the

new lesson

The students will identify the cable type used to connect the presented devices.

“Let’s Plan”

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Students will be grouped into five. With the prepared plan by the teacher, the
students will lay-out a network cable installation for this floor plan. Ask a member of
each group to present their output. (At the end of the activity it is expected that the students
will use switch and 12 pieces of straight – through cable.)

Illustration A

Ask: What type of cable and devices will be used if you want to extend the network
connection from the Technical Support Department going to the other rooms or
workplace areas? Why did you choose these materials?
“Spot the Difference”

C. Presenting examples/instances of the lesson The teacher will show the appropriate wire installation floor plan with the
use of modular I/O and patch panel.
D. Discussing new concepts and Practicing new
skills #1

Illustration B

Let the students compare their output with the showed appropriate wire installation floor
plan. Let them spot and list on the board the differences from the two illustrations (A & B).

“Think Positive”

Students are tasked to list the differences between the two

illustrations. Let them analyze the benefits of using modular I/O and
patch panel materials in extending network connection.
Ask: What are the benefits of using modular I/O and patch panel materials in
extending network connection.

Say: Proper cabling and choosing the right materials/devices for networking
eliminate risks in a workplace area. Modular I/O and patch panel are great
help to extend network connections neatly.

The teacher will show the different tools used in producing network cable installation.

E. Discussing new concepts

and Practicing new skills #2

As a computer technician, which of these tools are appropriate to use in creating

modular I/O and patch panel connections? Give the function of each.

A. Identify the tools used in producing network cables.
