Ministry of Education, Training and Employment (Cayman Islands)

Cornerstones Secondary Therapeutic Inclusion Unit, May 2013 – present, School Inclusion Unit
Specialist and Manager
Leads in the promotion, direction and oversight of high standards of teaching and learning, pupil
achievement and progression through effective inclusion for pupils with Emotional and Behavioural
needs in conjunction with the Senior School Improvement Officer.

Stepping Stones Primary Schools Behavioural Service/Program, March 2012 – May 2013, Primary
Schools’ Inclusion Unit Specialist and Unit Manager.
Leads in the promotion, direction and oversight of high standards of teaching and learning, pupil
achievement and progression through effective inclusion for pupils with Emotional and Behavioural
needs in conjunction with the Senior School Improvement Officer.

John Gray High School (August 2011 - March 2012), Emotional Behavioural Developmental
Specialist.
Duties included developing and implementing programs to remediate behavioral and social
problems for students eligible for emotional and behavioural, intellectually disabled, and autism
spectrum disorders program. Served as a consultant to school personnel and parents of said
students. Assisted in the development and implementation of behaviour intervention plans for
general education students, as part of a team in the Secondary Inclusion Unit.

Prospect Primary School (August 2010- August 2011) - Classroom Teacher Year 6.
 Duties included, facilitating the teaching and learning to students of varied abilities within
the frame work of the National Curriculum, encouraging social skills, moral, cultural and
religious development. My duties also included, managing records necessary to monitor
students performance, attendance and personal growth.

CAYS Foundation (2006 – 2011) – Education Liaison Officer


 Supervision and Monitoring of children (court ordered to reside in residential care
facilities) within the Public Schools System (Alternative Education Centre, John Gray
High School and George Hicks High School).
 Served as liaison personnel between CAYS Foundation, school schools senior
management teams, residents and relevant stakeholders in relation to academic and
behavioural development of residents/students.
 Assisted the re-integration process of students/residents from the Alternative
Education Centre to mainstream schools.
 Provided guidance and support for residents while serving as advisor and positive
role model.
 Attended Case Conferences for Residents.
 Engaged in the teaching and learning experience with the residents through class
support.
 Developed and maintained a positive, respectful and professional working
relationship with residents.
 Advocated for the condition of success for residents in accordance with their needs.
 Facilitated the development and implementation of various academic programs to
include but not limited to assessing residents reading levels and provided
appropriate measures to improve their ability.
