(Continuation) Change of a roller of roller bow

Attachm. Adjusting instruction for handrail length compensation

= +5mm

length compensation

10 mm

1. All rollers in the roller bow must be in line. The handrail must run straight through
the track system as seen from above.

2. The handrail support roller bows (A) rest on fastening screws (B). The height is adjusted
by adjusting the entire unit with the pressure bolts (C). The handrail has to run straight
into the fixed guidence, respectively, into the handrail drive.

3. Roller bow (D) adjustment:

- Loose hexagon nut (E). Do not Unscrew the Nut of the Guiding bolt (G).
- Run the escalator downwards about 2000 mm. (Handrail raises the roller bow).
- Run the escalator upwards about 2000 mm (Handrail buckles, roller bow lowers).
- Tighten hexagon nuts (E) at this point.
Copyright 1999, OTIS GmbH Berlin

- The handrail must run loosely through the entire system and may not be
pretensioned at any point.
- This adjustment is correct when the play on the handrail at the newel is + 5 mm
on the length of the handrail (F) and the handrail can be pulled off the rollerbow (D)
approx. 10 mm after upward running.
Otherwise adjust the roller bow (D) upwards in 5 mm steps and check the play at
the newel after each adjustment.
