Keyword: *USTRESDIF
Templates: gmgmc074.dat, stgeo089.dat
Estimate fracture block permeability using normal fracture stress with the modified Barton-Bandis model. The stress
change for the fracture opening can be used when determining the stress path. This modification allows current stress to
be replaced by the difference between the current and initial values of the minimum principle effective stress.

Filters for Grid Property Arrays

Keywords: *MAXVAL, *MINVAL
Limit grid and property input data ranges to minimum and/or maximum values, including values from *MOD or *EQUALSI
calculations. Quickly and easily quality check imported properties with large value ranges, such as permeability or

Geomechanics Coupling
Keyword: *GEOMECH
Templates: mxgmc001.dat – mxgmc089.dat
Model the geomechanical phenomena observed in the field with one- and two-way
coupling between the geomechanics module and IMEX. The newly implemented
module in IMEX uses rock stresses and strains to accurately model pore volume
changes due to pore pressure changes, as well as advanced behavior such as predicting
caprock yielding, plastic deformation, and non-linear rock elasticity.

Table-Based Relative Permeability Endpoint Scaling

One- and two-way coupled geomechanics
Keywords: *TSORW, *SKROCW, etc. module now available in IMEX
Template: mxsmo076.dat
Easily alter relative permeability saturations and endpoints, as well as streamline history matching workflows with the new table-
based endpoint scaling. Apply this feature when the goal is to scale the saturation endpoint values for a particular rock facies,
rather than scaling all grid blocks to one value or defining endpoints for every grid block.

Relative Permeability Interpolation

Keyword: *KRINTRP
Templates: mxspr012.dat, mxspr013.dat
IMEX now allows for interpolation between multiple relative permeability tables, based on the value of a specified interpolant.
The interpolant value can be polymer concentration, seawater volume fraction, and light-oil volume fraction. This new option
enhances IMEX’s EOR modelling capabilities by capturing advanced physics in processes such as polymer and seawater injection.

Shear Effect on Polymer Viscosity

Keywords: *SHEARTHIN, *SHEARTHICK, *SHEAR_FAC, *SHEAREFFEC, *VSMIXFUNC
Template: mxspr014.dat
Achieve increased accuracy by accounting for shear effects (shear thinning and thickening power law correlations) on polymer
viscosity. Additionally, define non-linear viscosity mixing functions dependent on polymer concentration.

Fluid Initialization Improvements

Initialization Depth Table Dimension Specification
Keyword: *DIM_DEPTH_TABLE
Template: mxsmo077.dat
User-specified input determines the number of points used in the property
versus depth calculations for fluid initialization. The higher resolution table
provides a more accurate representation of the phase gravity non-linearity
over large depth ranges or for reservoirs initialized with a significant gas cap.

Depth Map for Tilted Water-Oil/Gas Contact

Keywords: *DWOC_MAP, *DWGC_MAP
Templates: mxsmo078.dat, mxsmo079.dat
Conventional reservoir with a tilted
