2. ARRIVAL
2.1. SPEED RESTRICTIONS
SPEED ADJUSTMENTS UNDER RADAR CONTROL
- MAX 250 KT at or below FL 100.
- MAX 220 KT when leaving IAF.
- MAX 180 KT when leaving IF or when completing the final turn.
- MAX 160 KT when crossing the FAF. ACFT shall maintain this speed till 4NM
from THR.
- ACFT with cruising speed lower to the aforementioned shall maintain cruising
speed up to the adjusting fix concernded.
If this speed adjustment cannot be carried out, pilots shall notify to ATC which
speed can be maintained.
ACFT will be exempt from complying with these speed limitations when a contin-
uous descent arrival is being performed, but not from complying with those which
are explicitly shown in some charts.
3. DEPARTURE
3.1. START-UP, PUSH-BACK AND TAXI PROCEDURES
3.1.1. START-UP
Pilots will request clearance to start-up engines/turbines on the appropriate fre-
quency broadcasted by ATIS.
When this clearance is requested, ACFT must be ready to start-up immediately or
in a position to do so immediately.
On initial contact with ATC, pilot shall report:
- Complete ACFT designator;
- Parking stand;
- ATIS message received.
Start-up request shall be made considering that ACFT should be ready to leave
stand according to following criteria:
- ACFT with CTOT assigned: 15 minutes before CTOT when it is parked at a
towed push-back stand, or 10 minutes before CTOT for other stands.
- ACFT without CTOT assigned: before EOBT +10 minutes when it is parked at a
towed push-back stand, or before EOBT +15 minutes for other stands.
- To improve the predictability of the TTOT, ATC may instruct ACFT to request
permission to start-up at a certain time.
In periods of high demand, ATC may apply other values which guarantee compli-
ance with the tolerance window of the flight.
Start-up of engines above idling at all stands in contact with the terminal is for-
bidden, until the ACFT is lined up with the TWY.

Departures
ACFT departing Alicante-Elche AD and with intention to
leave the ATZ, must request from TWR instructions
regarding the departure point and the direction of turn to
be executed after TKOF.
COM Failure
ACFT with communication failure must proceed via the
REPs SW to S at 800' MAX ALT, and expect visual signals
clearance from TWR.
VFR Overflights
Except other ATC clearance, ACFT overflying CTR have
to use VFR corridors 'NORTH CORRIDOR' and 'SOUTH
CORRIDOR' as depicted.
Two-way radio contact with VALENCIA CONTROL must be
maintained to get transit clearance.
Prior authorisation by TWR, and upon request by pilots,
the CTR may be crossed through these corridors at a
MAX ALT of 1500', by levelling at this altitude before
entering the corridors. If so, ACFT shall proceed to VFR
points: N or S, as clearance limit, where they will wait for
clearance to overfly Alicante-Elche AD.
HEL Operations
Taxiing
Taxiing will be carried out via the same TWYs used by
fixed-wing ACFT. This could be air or ground taxiing,
depending on the HEL type.
Arrivals
HEL ARR by RWY 10 will exit RWY via rapid exit TWY C2 up
to the holding position of this TWY and will be authorised
