    पनस्स्मारणम -् अव्ययीभावः
    In Sanskrit समासः means “summary” or in simple words समासः is a process by which two or
    more words are joined together to get a new word. This new word is called समासः and there
    are different types of समासः
    But we know that like all the other topics of Sanskrit even समासः has certain important
    short-cut keys by which we can easily identify them. Broadly there are 4 major types of समासः
    namely ु
    तत्परुषः द्वन्द्वः अव्ययीभावः बहुव्रीह ः
    We will be revising अव्ययीभावः समासः, which is very easy and simple to identify.

    What is an अव्ययीभावः समासः ?


    अव्ययीभावः समासः is a समासः in which the first component of the समासः is an अव्ययम. ्
    ्
    अव्ययम means ् that word which remains the same in all genders, in all
    indeclinable. अव्ययम is
    numbers and in all हवभहि at all times. There are hundreds of “avyayams” and we can make
    अव्ययीभावः समासः with all these “avyayams” !!!!
    But we have to learn अव्ययीभावः समासः with respect to those “avyayams” that are given in the
    textbook, they are (अन,ु उप, स , हनर ्, प्रहत, यथा)
    अन ु = “following, as per, according to, in a corresponding or suitable manner”
    उप = “proximity”
    स = “with”
    ् “negation, departure, destruction”
    हनर =
    प्रहत = “according to, repetition”
    यथा = “likness”
    ् called अव्ययीभावः सामसः
    Any compound which is formed by using the above अव्ययम is
    ्
    When the अव्ययम –प्रहत is used in that case it means “in each and every” for eg----
    ् हिन े हिन े
    प्रहतहिनम =
    ् quite a common word that we use in Hindi and Marathi too. It means

    “daily” र रोज
    Observe and learn the examples below-
    Along with प्रहत we can find another avyayam which is यथा.
    यथा means “as per”
    ् सृ
    यथाशहि = शहिम अन ु त्य “as per one’s strength”

    प्रहत demands  सप्तमी हवभहिः


    यथा demands  हद्वतीया हवभहिः

    अभ्यसः
    प्रित्तताहिकायाां समस्तपिां हवग्र ां वा हिखत।

    १ हनममिम ् मिस्य अभावः

    २ प्रत्येकम ् ्
    एकम एकम ्

    ३ हनिोषः ्
    िोषाणाम अभावः

    ४ सव्यवधानम ् व्यवधान ेन स

    ५ हनहिन्तः हिन्तायाः अभावः

    ७ यथासमयम ् ्
    समयम अनहतक्रम्य

    ८ उपगङ्गम ् गङ्गायाः समीपम ्

    ९ स षमम ् षेण स

    १० सपहरवारम ् पहरवारेण स
