1.2. Inserting into pit


a. Bring all rails to entrance and clean the oil grease at each end part.
b. Assemble the rail joint at each rail top end. At this time, groove part of rail must be
upward.

1.3. Working platform in pit


a. Install the working platform in pit as below picture.

2. Rail hanging
2.1. Rail hanging for Machine side
a. Use a winch and hoist rails one by one as connecting each other.

1. Be careful about falling things while rail is hoisted.


2. The rail can be turned around during hoisting

Caution 3. All of hall entrance must be sheltered.


4. Be careful that hands can be hurt while you connect
rails

d. Each rail level must be adjusted within 5mm.


e. Use turn buckle to adjust rail level position

b. The rail hanging method for CDEH side is same as machine side. The rail level
position is different.
c. In case it requires cutting on end of top rail, make it plat by grinding.

2.3. Bottom rail installation


a. measure the bottom rail size and cut it out as considering pit depth
b. The rail sheet thickness must be calculated before cutting.

2.4. Removal of working platform


a. Remove working platform in reverse sequence of installation.

3. Scaffold assembling under scaffold method


In case the scaffold method is applied to job site, the scaffold position must avoid
rail position.

4. Safety regulation for scaffold method application


4.1. Verifying scaffolds & fittings
a. All scaffolds & fittings must be recognized by approved grading standard. If such
standards are not available, a qualified engineering authority must approve them.
b. Prior to use, all scaffolds must be constructed according to recommendations of
manufacturer.
c. Responsible person for safety must inspect proper application & defect of scaffolds,
any noted problems must be corrected prior to use.
d. All scaffolds & fittings must be able to support at least 4 times the maximum intended
load

4.2. Construction

a. All post scaffolds must

4.3. Preparing platform or safety footstool


a. Apply working platform or safety footstool close to wall of hoistway as much as it can.
b. In working level, below protections must be provided:
- 100mm-height toeboard.
- Guardrail at 900mm~1100mm height from working level
- Midrail between toeboard and guardrail

e. Planks must extend 150~300mm over their end to support.

the height between working level and landing is higher than 1m.
