Foundation of Education: Classwork #2

The document discusses the foundation of education in the Philippines. It argues that the foundation is strong based on the coordinated efforts of the DepEd, CHED, and TESDA to provide quality, adequate education for all. It also outlines some of the problems with the biological-psychological, legal, historical, anthropological, and sociological foundations of education. These include limited usefulness of biological-psychological foundations, low education budgets, high dropout rates, lack of facilities and teachers, inaccurate or forgotten information from anthropological research, and issues like family disorganization that affect the sociological foundation.

CLASSWORK #2:

1. In your personal assessment, is the foundation of education in the Philippines strong, stable, or
weak? Support your answer.

2. Discuss the problems/ issues of biological-psychological, legal, historical, anthropological and

sociological foundation of education.

ANSWER

1. Based on my own assessment re foundation of education here in the Philippines, I can see
the effort and I can tell that it is already STRONG. Why? Because the concept of education today is
gradually being broadened. New concepts in education are now developed.
We know that the Philippine Education system includes three (3) levels of instructions:
Elementary, Secondary and Tertiary. The DepEd, CHED and TESDA are hand in hand to produce a
quality education and productive people to make standards and we have the ability to compete with
other foreign countries. It’s a happy thing that the heads of DepEd, CHED and TESDA are coordinated
in implementing educational programs (especially the K-12 Program). They makes the foundation of
education STRONG by the help of these agencies to provide duality, adequate and appropriate
education to everyone.
