1. Impact of Covid-19 on Events Industry.

The impact of Covid-19 is not only impacting our health but is

also affecting economies worldwide and is the biggest disrupter
for the events industry as events take place when a large group
of people come together for a particular cause, celebration or
event and as Covid-19 (Corona Virus) is a disease which
transmits from one person to another and hence there is a need
of avoiding events with large gatherings.

Events got postponed, occurred virtually or are taking place but

with fewer gatherings and under the guidelines set by
Government / WHO which has resulted in reduced footfalls and
increased cost of organising any event and due to which the
event management industry is facing huge losses and there are
many event management companies which even got shut down
during this period due to heavy losses and liability on them.

As human beings we need to connect face to face. We share our

stories and our journeys to create hospitable environments and
meaningful, life affirming experiences through these face to face
experiences. We are indeed strong but are better when we
socialize with a unified voice around the power of events. It is
expected that events will take place once this pandemic gets
over until then organising an event virtually or with fewer
gatherings is the only way forward.

2. Virtual Mode- Difference between virtual and

physical mode.

Virtual mode is where people gather together, not in a physical

location but through sources like video conferencing and the
internet. It can’t take over the essence of the physical mode but
it is definitely the most helpful and important mode in times like
these.
Both the modes have some pros and cons:
For conducting virtual events there is no need of gathering at a
particular place, anyone can be in the event from anyplace and
anytime, cut downs the costs, saves the travelling expenses and
time. On the other hand it has some disadvantages too like
technical problems take place during the conduct of the event;
people do not feel as much connected as they feel in the physical
mode.

In physical mode people feel more connected as an environment

like that gets created and as human beings we all have a need of
socialising, learning and experiencing new things in a physical
environment.
