a large amount of the population smarter. The Information Age has made industrial
countries stronger. With online companies being some of the most successful and
economically stimulating businesses out there, economies receive more from them and
keep our world turning. People are becoming more mature and more educated due to
the computer and the Internet. To add, Governments can now have more advanced and
effective militaries. Also, because of the development of the Internet, new laws had to
be put in place to stop hacking, piracy, and identity theft.
The Information Age is now every era from the Stone Age up to The Industrial
Revolution has led to the world as we know it. Without the information, knowledge and
discoveries of those from the past, we would not be where we are today. The past has
shaped our present and will continue to shape our future.
2. Social media is a technology which facilitates the sharing of information, ideas, and
other content in different parts of globe. If social media were deactivated for a month in
the country, what could possibly happen?
Almost more than half of the population in our country are engaged in the world of
social media. Today, people and organizations remain connected, updated and we are
surrounded by technology like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogs and microblogs. Social
media had made life easier for individuals as well as groups to create movements and voice
themselves, for both good and the bad, and we had discovered that social media can be utilized
for positive, sustainable and resourceful communication outcomes. Now, what if social media
suddenly shuts down? What would life be? Well, it’s impact will entirely depend on how
dependent a country is on social media and the current state of the country.
Possibly, social media deactivation in our country for a month can result to both positive
and negative impacts. In our country, we all know how addicted our generation is in the use of
social media and the number of people who depend on it are really increasing as time passes
by. Consequently, if social media were deactivated for a month, all population who uses it will
be completely lost and it can ruin their daily routine. Lose of online sites can affect those
companies who depend their marketing on social media. Communication to far places can’t be
easily initiated. Spread of news to communities will be difficult due to lack of announcing or
broadcasting media online and there will might problems in spreading information. Unlike when
we are busy on are phones because of social media, people will be bored and start reflecting
back to the old days.
Moving on, there are still positive impacts if social media were deactivated for a month.
People will begin to learn and appreciate the importance of intrapersonal communication.
Children can go back to playing outside with traditional games. People will start reading books
and can tend to gain more knowledge to be more productive. The toxic environment of social
media will vanish and people will start realizing to lessen the negativity and hate produce by the
social media.
With these, the deactivation of social media for a month is not really a big deal, it may
affect some routines in our life, but it really won’t change a thing, because social media is not
the overall need of humans. Even before the invention of the social media technology, humans
were already there and they survived without it.
