LAB 1(A):
TASK:
Output response for low pass and high pass filters in RC circuit.
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM:
PROCEDURE:
1. Choose and place a resistor (1kohm), a capacitor (1nF), an AC
voltage source and ground from library.
2. Make the circuit as shown in figure a.
3. Set the analysis at AC sweep and specify the parameters.
4. Set the voltage value as 1 volt.
5. Now check the response across the capacitor on output
whether it’s a high pass or low pass filter.
6. Now modify the circuit as shown in figure b.
7. Again check the response across the resistor on output.
From graph, it can be seen that it is a low pass filter. This is because
capacitive reactance varies inversely with frequency.
XC = 1/ (2fC)
So it allows the high frequencies to pass and drops the low
frequencies across itself. So this circuit is a low pass filter.
And when we take output across the resistor, response shows that it
is a high pass filter.

TASK:
Output response for low pass and high pass filters in RL circuit.
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM:
PROCEDURE:
1. Choose and place a resistor (1kohm), a inductor, an AC voltage
source and ground from library.
2. Make the circuit as shown in figure a.
3. Set the analysis at AC sweep and specify the parameters.
4. Set the voltage value as 1 volt.
5. Now check the response across the inductor on output
whether it’s a high pass or low pass filter.
6. Now modify the circuit as shown in figure b.
7. Again check the response across the resistor on output.
From graph, it can be seen that it is a high pass filter. This is because
inductive reactance varies directly with frequency.
XF = 2fL
So it allows the low frequencies to pass and drops the high
frequencies across itself. So this circuit is a high pass filter.
And when we take output across the resistor, response shows that it
is a low pass filter.
