Update Main Controller and Display

(Operating concept up to year 2008)

!!! Important !!!

During the complete update the ignition must be on and the engine turned off.
The update software must be installed on your laptop prior to starting the
update.

Tools needed for the update:

• Laptop
• Complete software for display and main controller
• IFM cable
• Cat5 network cable

First the current software version has to be determined

Press F6 in Display Choose system information press F6 to confirm

In the upper third part of the window for system information you can find the software
version of the display (for example 02.00.00).
In the middle third part you can find the software version of the main controler (for
example HV005 SV02.00.01)
Write down both software versions. You need them later on, when the file names/
folder names for the data backup will be created.

Compatibility:
Basically, be aware that the software versions of the display and the main controler
have to match (except the last two numbers).

The denomination HV… of the main controller, tells what hardware is installed on the
machine (Components like wiring harnesses, switches, sensors..)
An Update to an higher version (for example from HV005 to HV006) is not possible,
or only after consultation with Aftermarket Dept. Terex Fuchs.

After every change of the software version, a report has to be sent to

Aftermarket Dept. Terex Fuchs. Only if we receive information about every
modification, we can guarantee that in case of a replacement of a main
controller or a display the correct software version will be installed!

The connection of the laptop (Normally Com1, serial com port) and the main
controller (IFM Cr0020) must be by special IFM cable, or a standard serial (RS232)
cable with an IFM+ecology+Lenkrechner adapter.

Start the Program “Download IFM” then select RS232 for interface.

Adjust program “Download IFM” Settings:

Select “Interface Parameter” and set the parameters.

Bits per Second @ 57600, Data Bits @ 8, Stop Bits @ 1, Parity @ None,
Com-port @ Com1 (It may be necessary to select alternate com port if not using a
serial port)
Select “OK”

 Select File, then from the menu select “File Options”

Only Runtime Systems / Application Program should be check marked,

Then select OK.
Then Select “Get Identity”
Identity: CR0020_Q 041214 is the old software and needs to be updated/patched
before the application program can be updated.

Identity: CR0020_Q 070629 is the New software and the application program can be
updated.

Prior to beginning the update make a data save

(Ignition on, engine off!)

Follow the file path as the example shown above. (Note- at “Software Projekte” it is
necessary to select the correct model machine you are updating)

Type the machine model - serial number

and the date in the file name field as
shown

Click on “Open”

The file name will be displayed at the top.

Click “Upload”

A Safety copy of the application program will be saved on your laptop.

To start the application program update,

Click on “Open File”

Follow the file path as the example shown above. (Note- at “Software Projekte” it is
necessary to select the correct model machine you are updating)

 Select the file with the same hardware version and
the newest software version

Click “Open”

The correct file will be shown at the top.

The laptop will begin to download the application program to the main controller.

Connect the laptop to the display with the cat5 network cable ( use the Ethernet port
in the central electric box)

 Start the program WS_FTP95 LE

This screen will be displayed.

If the “Session Properties” screen matches this, click OK.

If the Profile name displays as “Ipswitch” as shown below, follow the procedures
below;

Push the button ”New” and change to:

Profile Name: IFM Display

Host Name/Address: 10.31.0.248
User ID: root
Password: root

Select “Startup” and type /home/project in the “Initial Remote Site Folder” field

Then click “OK”. Wait for the Lap top to connect with the display.

NOTE: if the lap top will not connect it may be necessary to change the network
connection settings.

When the connection is completed this screen will be displayed.

The left side “Local System” Displays the lap top files

The right side “Remote Site” will show the files on the display when completely
connected.

Make a data save

Double Click to go to “C” drive

Double click on FuchsService

Double click on “Update”

Select with double click the folder for the machine model you are working on

Click on MkDir (Make Directory)

This screen will display. Enter the Machine Model and serial number and the date
and click “OK”

Double click on the folder you just created.

At the “Remote Site” Highlight from the top file completely to the last file.

Click the arrow to transfer the files from the display to the laptop

When the transfer is complete the screen will have the same files on both sides.

Click on “Delete”, Then click on “Delete All”

After “Delete” the remote site will be blank.

Select all the files from the top to the bottom.

At the bottom DO NOT HIGHLIGHT THE DRIVE FOLDERS AT THE BOTTOM

Click the arrow to transfer the files form the lap top to the remote site.

This will flash during the transfer process

This screen will display when the transfer is complete.

Click on “Exit”

Turn key switch off; disconnect the network cable, Turn Master Battery switch off.

Wait 10 seconds

Turn master switch and then key switch back on.

On the display, Press “F6” (Main Menu)

Select System Information from the main menu

Verify the newest software version is on the display.

Press AND HOLD in this order – “F2” and “F3” and “F1”.

This will begin system initialization. A blue field will be show on the display.
When this is complete you will see the message “initializing variables” “DONE”

Return to the main menu.

Check the machine for proper operation.

First, the current software version will be identified

Press F6 on the display Æ choose system information Æ press F6 to confirm

In the upper third of the window “system information”, you see the software version of
the Display (eg. 02.00.00).
In the middle of the screen you see the software version of the main controller.
(eg. HV005 SV02.00.01).
Make a note of the both software versions, you need them later to use as file names
for the data backup.

Compatibility:
Basically it’s important, that the software version of the display and the software
version of the main controller, match up to the last two digits.

The part “HV…” from the software version of the main controller, indentifies the
hardware version.
A update to a another hardware version is not possible, or only after consultation with
the Terex Fuchs Aftermarket Department.

Remove the red protection cover from the Sub-D socket (X3), and attach the silver
plug. After the update, remove the plug and replace the protection cover.

Start the program DOWNLOAD IFM V06.05.05.

If you can’t find the icon “Downloader IFM V06.05.05”, you have to create a new
shortcut.

When the new Downloader opens, the following steps between the red bars can be
skipped.

Open “My Computer”

Click with the right hand mouse button on the file “DOWNLOAD.exe” and chose:
Send to Desktop.

You get the following icon on your Desktop:

Click the icon with the right hand mouse button,

to rename the shortcut.

Rename to: DOWNLOAD IFM V06.05.05

Start the program „DOWNLOAD IFM V06.05.05“.

Push the button “Identity”.
If you get an error message, check the Interface settings.
Open “Interface” on the drop down menu, to set the interface parameters.

The parameter settings to connect with the main controller:

• 57600 Bits per Second

• Data Bits: 8
• Parity: N
• Stop Bits: 1
• COM-Port: Com1 (serial port on your PC )

If you do not have a serial port on your PC, you need a USB to RS232 adapter.
In this case select the correct COM-Port.

Before you start the data transfer, check the transfer settings:

Open the drop down menu Options and go to File Options.

Only select Runtime System / Application Program”!

Backup from the main controller (Ignition on; Engine off)

Press the button upload.

Go to “C:\FuchsService\backup\main_controler”.
If the path does not exist create a new folder.

Enter file name: (File name:

If you get the message „Download successful“the update was complete. Press OK.

Close the program DOWNLOAD IFM.

Remove the data cable.
The update from the main controller is done.

Finally an initialization of the main controller has to be carried out. (How to do so

If the connection settings are correct, the Instructions between the two lines can be
skipped.

Enter the following Settings in General:

Profile Name: IFM Display

Host Name: 10.31.0.248
Host Type: Automatic detect
User ID: root
Password: root
Anonymous: not enabled
Save Pwd: enabled

Initial Remote Site Folder: /home/project

To update the Display, the Ignition must be on and the engine off!
Press OK to connect.

After a few minutes you see on the Remote Site the files from the Display

It can takes up to 3 minutes to connect with the Display. If you can’t connect to the
display check the Firewall and the LAN settings.

To set the network connections go to:

Start Æ Control Panel Æ Network Connections
Press the right hand mouse button on Local area connection and mark “Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP)”, Press Properties.

Go to Alternative Configuration
Æ User configured
IP-adress: 10.31.0.10
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Backup from the Display
Navigate in the left column to the directory:
C:\FuchsService\backup\display CR9014\.
If the directory doesn’t exist, make a new directory.

Also make a new Directory for the machine.

e.g. \MHL320sn4711

Mark all the files on the Remote Site,
And press the arrow to the left, for uploading the Files from the Display to your PC.

After the upload there is a copy from these files on your hard disk.

Now the window has to look like shown on the following picture.

Downloading the new files to the Display
Before each update to the Display a backup has to be made.

Mark all the files on the Remote Site and delete them

Confirm with „Delete All“.

All Files on the Display in the directory „/home/project“ are deleted

In this situation don’t switch off the ignition or the battery switch (data loss).

Navigate in the left column (Local System) to the directory:

Display

Mark all the new files.

Now press the arrow to the right, to download the files from your PC into the Display.

After the download is complete the window has to look like shown on the following
picture:

Press the button close, to disconnect and then close the program WS_FTP.

Disconnect the network cable Æ ignition off Æ disconnect the battery switch for 10
seconds Æ ignition on Æ check all the functions of the machine.
The update of the display is now complete.

Initializing the main controller

Press F6 Æ go to “system information” Æ press F6 for OK Æ

Press and hold F2, additionally press and hold F3 and then also press F1 Æ
You get a message on the Display „Initialization done“ Æ
Ignition off Æ ignition on

The Initializing is now complete

After every change of the software version, a report has to be sent to

Aftermarket Dept. Terex Fuchs. Only if we receive information about every
modification, we can guarantee that in case of a replacement of a main
controller or a display the correct software version will be installed!
