NATURE AND BACKGROUND OF OUTDOOR RECREATION

Background Information for Learners

Etiquette is the customary code of polite behavior in among members of a hiking,


camping group. Someone has no idea how others feel but it should consider also the other
desires and plan among close hiking friends or a team.
Campers must follow the proper etiquette while at camp so that everyone has a great and
peaceful experience. Here are the tips on how to behave properly on camp:

1. Share camping space with others. Occupy only what is needed and exact space with the
tent.
2. Be careful when walking around the site. Remember that all structures are temporary and
are not that tough.
3. Agreement among the campers to designate a space or place for deposit human waste. A
good behavior of a camper to know where to throw the waste.
4. Respect the privacy of others. Avoid loud noises at all times and observe silence at night.
5. Extend hands to others. Helping each other is one of the best attitudes in camping.
6. Be friendly to others campers.
7. Be nice and respect the tour guides. Make the tour guides feel as part of the team in way
that you can include them in your meals and your socials gathering.
8. Practice Leave No Trace principles.
