Bullying

What is bullying? Bullying is when someone makes fun of you, teases you or does something

repeatedly that hurts you physically, mentally, or emotionally This problem can cause people to

do really horrible things to themselves or can cause them to not go to school. School bullying

and cyberbullying are increasingly viewed as an important contributor to youth violence,

including homicide and suicide. As we all know bullying happens just about anywhere. Whether

in school or outside of school . I believe when someone gets bullied at school it should be

professionally addressed and should also lead the bully to necessary disciplinary action. Most of

the time people get bullied at school and the parents are unaware of the situation. This could be a

result of the student/kid becoming afraid of informing the parents. There are 4 different types of

bullying. which are physical, verbal, social, and cyber bullying. The most common type of

bullying is physical. Physical bullying is when one person or a group of people pick on or

harasses someone by confronting them face-to-face because they are different or simply because

the bully could be much stronger and older than the victim and giving them an advantage. This
usually occurs at school and the school sometimes more often than not do not take any sort of

action .If a parent were to inform staff or faculty working at school about his or her child being

bullied, the school would probably get right on top the case. If you informed the parent on what

is going on , it all depends on the victim, the could have been threatened to not say a word on

what had happened. How ever , if you believe something is going on you can address it to the

school, From there they could proceed with necessary action , such as looking for witnesses or

checking cameras. Most kids do get bullied at school, which is not right and it needs to be

stopped. Bullying has gotten to the piont in where on average about 160,000 students skip

school everyday because of being bullied.

Kids don’t like to tell a teacher because they are scared they will get bullied too or they

will get called a snitch. Just imagine waking up in the morning, getting ready and thinking about

going to the place you hate because people like to bully you. These kids are at school more than

they are at home and they see staffs faces more than their parents face. If these kids are getting

bullied everyday, then these teachers or staff arent correctly doing there job. also it could have.

At the same time parents should do something too because it is their child. They must watch out

for their child's well being and make sure they aren’t getting hurt. Also, if their child is getting

bullied they should do something about it like going to the school and having a conference with

the principal, the bully, the bullies, parents and the victim.
I think that schools and parents should work together because they could maybe stop

bullying. People should first recognize bullying. You can when a child is getting bullied when

they are silent, moody, jumpy, and their grades aren’t to good. If the parent or the school notices

unusual behavior in the child/student then they should have a conference with the student. If

there is a bully involved then they should have a conference with everyone involved and the

parents. If parents, kids, or school officials don’t report the bullying problem then bullying will

never end or dial down. Some ways you can help to stop bullying are

■ Don't let your friends bully others

■ Stand up and speak out for the Victim the next time you witness a bullying incident

■ Talk to a parent, counselor or other trusted adult if you need help with learning how to

stop bullying

In conclusion, bullying is not just a phase or something that we all have to go through, it

is not "just messing around", and it is not something that kids eventually just grow out of.

Bullying is a serious problem that causes long-lasting harm.
