STRESS MANAGEMNET
What is stress?

Stress is your body's response to certain situations. It’s subjective, so something

that is stressful for you may not be stressful for someone else.

Stress can affect your physical and mental health, and your behavior.

1. Too much homework

When I get too much assignments I get frustrated because of which it is harder for
me to complete assignments.
 I listen to music:
It helps me to relax and focus, when I have to study at home.
 I make a time table:
It allows to set routine. It tells me that I have a specific time period to complete a
specific assignment.

2. My Maternal Grandmother died last year:

 In order to heal, I acknowledged the pain.
 I wasn’t able to talk to anyone so I decided to write about my loss in a
journal. There were many things I wanted to ask her but it was too late so I
wrote everything that I never got to say.
 When a person is healthy physically, it becomes easy to cope emotionally.
We can fight stress and fatigue by getting enough sleep, eating right,
and exercising.
3. Moving to a new home

Recently we moved to a new house. I was stressed because I had to leave my

friends, my room and my house in which I spent my whole life.

 My father suggested that I should take interest in my new house and new
neighborhood so that I could avoid the stress. He asked me choose my new
room and think about the way I’d like my room to look.
 I managed a tea party at my new house at which I invited my new neighbors.
It helped me to know them in a less time and my stress was gone in a little
time.
4. Depression, anxiety these are the problems I am facing all the time, so I
have to manage this stress before situation gets worse.
 I meditate because meditation is very helpful for dealing with these type of
stressors.
 I talk to my best friend about the problem.
 And then I try some healthy distractions, such as a good movie, fun activities
with friends, these things lessen emotional pain and help feel better.

5. Taking care of my paternal grandmother

Anxiety

I am taking care of my paternal grandmother these days. Sometimes I feel like

things are out of control and I don’t not know how to bring them back into control
these things often produce feelings of anxiousness

 To cope with my anxiousness I take a break. Breathe. Keep breathing. Pray.

Meditate. Make some tea. I do anything that gives me a break from what is
happening in the moment.

Boredom

I become bored when I am stuck at home taking care of someone else and not
doing things that fulfill my own wants and needs. And by the end of the day, I am
often too tired to pursue something of my interest.

 Getting a break from caregiving and having some time for myself increases
my patience. Going for a walk, or reading a good book are also helpful.

Sometimes the stress comes from inside, rather than outside. One can stress out
just by worrying about things. Stress level differs based on your personality and
how you respond to situations.

It’s impossible to completely get rid of stress. The goal of stress management is to
identify your stressors, which are the things that cause you the most problems or
demand the most of your energy.

I suggest some points to help cope with stress:

 Take care of yourself, by eating healthy, exercising, and getting plenty of

sleep.
 Find support by talking to other people to get your problems off your chest
 Connect socially, as it’s easy to isolate yourself after a stressful event
 Take a break from whatever is causing you stress
 Avoid drugs and alcohol, which may seem to help with stress in the short
term, but can actually cause more problems in the long term
