    Dear Madamme,

    Science is the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the
    structure and behavior of all the natural and physical world through observations and
    experiments.
    In connection with this, as a Science Club adviser, we are seeking permission from your good
    office to conduct a “2021 School Science Virtual Quiz Bee” among our Junior High School
    Students which will be held on April 20, 2021 via google meet.
    The objectives aims to;
    a. provide learners the opportunity to showcase their potentials;
    b. develop their skills through healthy academic competitions; and
    c. strengthen their knowledge in science while providing avenue for learning.

    To encourage full participation of the class, winners will be given a certificate of recognition, the
    certificate of participation will be given to the participants and additional grades in science
    subjects.
    Please allow us to conduct a virtual general orientation about the different activities in the
    program among the class presidents on the 19th of April at 8:00-9:00 AM via google meet.

    1. This is to announce the conduct of “2021 School Science Virtual Quiz Bee” where in it
    encourage students to expand their knowledge while having fun and recognize students
    who exhibit exemplary performance in quiz competition on April 20, 2021 at 9:00 AM
    which will be held via google meet.
    2. The activities will be led by the Science club advisers, Science Club Officers and Science
    Teachers. It will be participated by Junior High School students of Carlos F. Gonzales
    High School.
    3. The objectives aims to:
    d. provide learners the opportunity to showcase their potentials;
    e. develop their skills through healthy academic competitions; and
    f. strengthen their knowledge in science while providing avenue for learning.
    4. The announcement of the winners will be on Friday, April 23,2021, which will be judged
    by the selected Science Teachers on April 20,2021. This aims to promotes academic
    excellence by preparing the students and teachers to compete globally.
    5. It is expected that the club advisers, club officers, science teachers concerned as well as
    the class advisers and JHS students will coordinate with the lead organization for the
    success of the activity.
    6. Attached herewith is the list of judges and mechanics of the said Quiz Bee.
    7. Immediate and wide dissemination of this memorandum is desired to ensure full
    cooperation of all concerned.

    MECHANICS
    1. The quiz bee is open to all Junior High School students in Carlos F. Gonzales High
    School.
    2. The quiz bee has three rounds: EASY, AVERAGE, and DIFFICULT, below are the
    corresponding number of items, points, and time allotment for answering each item.

    3. Questions of the Online Quiz Bee will be from their first and second quarter lessons.

    4. The Online Quiz Bee will be held on April 20,2021 at 9:00AM and will be broadcasted
    live using the Science Club FB Page.
    5. The participants must enter the google meet 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
    6. Participants must have to use either one of the following:
    a. Laptop
    b. Desktop
    c. Cellphone
    d. Tablet
    7. Each participant must have whiteboard/illustration board/bond papers, markers/chalks
    and paper and pen.
    8. Each participant will start with zero score at the start of Easy Round. The accumulation
    of points all throughout the quiz bee will be cumulative.
    9. The Quiz Master will read each of the questions twice. The questions will also be
    presented via PowerPoint presentation.
    10. All participants must wait for the signal from the Quiz Master before answering the
    questions.
    11. When time is up the participants will be asked to raise their boards or papers to show
    their answers to the cameras.

    12. Participants can only show up and bring down their board or papers upon instruction of
    the Quiz Master.
    13. Questions and protest from the participants regarding the answers to the item shall be
    entertained. If protest shall arise, the participants will raise their complaints to the Quiz
    Master and will be forwarded to the Board of Judges. Questions and protest must be
    forwarded before the next questions read; otherwise, they will be considered invalid.
    14. At the end of the EASY ROUND, the TOP 50% of the participants will be qualified for
    the AVERAGE ROUND. After the AVERAGE ROUND only the TOP 3 participants
    will proceed to the DIFFICULT and FINAL ROUND.
    15. The organizers reserve the right to change the rules and guidelines for this event without
    prior notice.
    16. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
