CONCEPT NOTE FOR POLICE STATION RECORD MANAGEMENT

SYSTEM(PSRMS)
TITLE:
The title of our project is Design and Implementation of POLICE STATION RECORD
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION:
We shall develop police station record management System (PSRMS) that will be used by Iringa
police stations. In order to develop this system, we shall use some programing language like Java
programming language, XML, PHP, JAVASCRIPT, CSS, HTML Also the system development
will use MySQL database and other tools that will be identified during the analysis phase.
BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM:
Most of the police officers face the challenge to deal with criminal cases such as theft, murder,
rape and other cases for citizens and record keeping of the criminal cases in police stations are
practiced manually through books and high number of prisoners inside the inmates staying for
long time to be taken to court.
Due to this fact, the police officers fail to provide better service to their citizens especially in
police stations.
Also prisoner face the challenges firstly, one inmates may have large number of prisoners,
secondly, police officers lost their cases record due to manual way of recording such as criminal
charges against people and defendants, Thirdly, no link of information from one police station to
another police station.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Police stations currently operate manual way to put records in files or books. Suspects or
detainees of various offenses remain uncounted for inmates and lead to large number of people
being held in solitary confinement because of their information being on the files or books.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
The main objectives of our project is to develop and implement police station record
management System (PSRMS) to: -
 Police officer enable to check time arrive for every suspect and the time at which the
accused is taken to the court through the system.
 Retrieve and update police stations records.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE
Specifically, the solution will

 To develop the system which keep the record of criminal cases so as avoid the loss of
records within the police stations.

 To develop the system which will enable easy access of records from one police station
to another within a region.
 To develop the system which keep various information to police officers through the
system.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT


The project will ensure the security of police station information, the system will simplify
managing and control the police station records, police officers will be able to buy bus tickets
online at moment and furthermore stuff can sell bus tickets using Bus Tickets Reservation
System after checking bus tickets availability for passenger and print the tickets to passenger that
queue in the counter.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

The project will be limited in automation of the process of passenger checking availability of tickets and
having information of bus fare.
This project is limited to K3 Bus Company located in Iringa .
