    DSE857 USB – RS485 CO NVERTER
    I NSTALLATIO N I NSTRUCTIO NS

    DSE857 USB – RS485 converter is designed to allow DSE controllers with a USB port to be
    connected to an industry standard RS485 Modbus RTU master system. This enables (for
    example) DSE controllers with USB ports to communicate with a Building Management System
    (BMS) or PLC with HMI using Modbus RTU over RS485.

    SETUP

    DSE Configuration Suite PC Software is used in conjunction with an RS485 port on the
    PC/Laptop. This allows the convertor to be setup as required by the Modbus RTU Master system.

    For information in regards to setting up the Host DSE Controller, refer to the relevant
    Configuration Suite PC Software Manual which can be found on our website:
    www.deepseaplc.com.

    USAGE

    The host DSE controller has addressable registers as defined in the DSEGencomm Document.
    This and other DSEGencomm training documents are available from DSE Technical Support

    LED STATUS
    An LED shows operating status of the USB connection to the host DSE controller.

    LED State Description


    Off DSE857 is powered down or the RS485 interface is not active.
    Slowly Flashing DSE857 has no active USB connection to a host DSE controller.
    Rapidly Flashing DSE857 is connected to a host DSE controller by USB and data is
    being transmitted.
