Letter of Request
General Manager
Eunoia Company
Good day. I, Jaimee Marin, the Human Resource Manager at the company, am writing
this letter to propose a project with you that would benefit, not just our organization, but the
employees as well. Through my evaluation and analysis, I have found that our organization lacks
productivity and produced more absenteeism resulted in ineffective customer service and lower
profit in the past year. Under those circumstances, the employees experienced work-related stress
due to the poor working environment in the company. For this, I proposed a Comprehensive
Mental Health Project or Action Plan for the organization.
Please review the enclosed files. I provided a detailed proposal that includes the outline
of activities, as well as the budget for the project. I am looking forward to discuss the project
with you. Kindly contact me at (639) 359 534 853 if you have questions.
Sincerely Yours,
Jaimee Marin
Project Outline
Project Objectives The project aims to provide employees with mental health assistance in
order to improve employee job performance and productivity, individuals’
engagement with one’s work, communication with coworkers, physical
capability and daily functioning.
Activities
I. Organize an Employee Recreational Activity
Rationale Employees can have team buildings that are essential to their mental health,
like camping and hiking. Being away from work at least once a month can
improve employees’ mental health and well-being. Aside from this, it also
strengthens team work and good relationship with co-workers.
II. Mental Health Questions in Employees’ Survey
Rationale Including mental health questions in the employees’ survey allows the
human resource department to monitor the mental health of the employees.
Through this, the HR manager can be able to regularly check the mental
health of the employees by inviting the employees to one-on-one meetings.
The HR may also educate the employees on mental health awareness and
what the organization can offer.
III. Telephone and Online Support
Rationale Employees and their immediate family members will have access on
telephone numbers and websites of mental health professionals in case they
need immediate assistance while they’re at the office and when they’re out
of the office. This will make the employees feel that they are supported by
the organization even when they are inside and outside of the company. This
may also lessen or prevent absenteeism within the organization since the
employees can easily seek help from professionals, while the expenses will
be under the company tab.
IV. Inclusion of Mental Health Support in the Employees’ Benefits
Rationale Provide employees with mental health savings in order to help with out of
the budget expenses for mental health check-ups. Give the employees
insurance coverage for their mental health disorders to be able to help them
function effectively at workplace. The organization may also include mental
health sick days on employees’ sick leaves. In turn, this will make
employees feel that they are valued and protected in the organization
because the company recognizes their mental health and provides benefits to
help them have a healthy mind.
