    SUBJECT : INVITATION TO THE 1ST SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN JOINT


    REGIONAL ASSEMBLY FOR
    LUZON

    Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 7, Paragraph 2 of the KK and SK Constitution and By-Laws, the
    Sangguniang Kabataan will hold its Congress to be:
    • SK Regional Congress to be attended by all SK Panlalawigan/Panlungsod/Pambayang
    Pederasyon Presidents from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao regions; and,
    • SK City and SK Municipal to be participated in by all constituent SK Chairmen and SK
    Kagawads.

    The implementation of said assembly is anchored on the urgent need to address various issues and
    concerns affecting the Sangguniang Kabataan and the Filipino youth in general such as SK leadership
    and values, the proposed abolition of the Sangguniang Kabataan, its collection of SK annual dues,
    implementation of SK programs pertaining to climate change, green brigade, drugs, education,
    disaster preparedness, public accountability, SK leadership and values.

    In line with this, we are pleased to invite you to the 1st Sangguniang Kabataan Joint Regional
    Assembly for Luzon which will be held on 12-14 March 2011 at the Subic Bay Metropolitan
    Authority in Olongapo City, Zambales. With the theme “SK Level up!”, this Joint Regional
    Assembly aims to jumpstart the series of regional consultations of the national leadership of the
    Sangguniang Kabataan with its constituents in order to build up consensus on relevant issues and to
    formulate relevant policies to protect the rights and welfare of the Filipino youth.

    A registration fee of Seven Thousand Pesos (Php 7,000) per participant, chargeable against
    local funds and subject to the usual accounting and auditing procedures, shall be collected to defray
    organizational costs including hotel accommodation, meals, supplies and other incidental expenses of
    the said activity. Registration fee shall not cover the expenses of the following: a.) participant’s
    accompanying staff and chaperones b.) participant and accompanying persons’ roundtrip plane/ ferry
    boat/ bus tickets c.) travel insurance d.) allowance e.) extended stay in the hotel f.) food and
    beverages and other hotel services that is not covered of the agreement made by the organizer and
    hotel g.) City Tour.

    City Tour (optional) can be arranged for a minimal fee depending on the place of destination the
    group wished to visit. Places of destination and the amount of fee required shall be announced at the
    training venue.

    Landbank of the Philippines, Banawe, Quezon City Branch. Please fax the validated deposit slip at

    you to pay in advance for us to facilitate your room accommodation. Participants who remit payments
    in advance will be guaranteed accommodation near the Assembly venue. Participants who will
    register during the event should pay in cash. For check payments, please make your check payable
    to the aforementioned bank account details.
