The circuit shown in the figure below is made up of a battery connected to a set of
resistors with different values of resistance. However, if a power of over 2.00 W is
dissipated in one of these resistors, that resistor will fail.

It may be helpful to systematically work through the circuit to find the resistor that dissipates

the highest power by comparing the R or I 2 R terms for a few resistors at a time. The figure
shows three sections of the circuit labelled A, B and C. For each of these in order, try to work
out which resistor will dissipate the largest power.
