Students will be able to create a Poster to show how to use the Sieve of Eratosthenes.
Students will successfully create a Poster with 80% compliance to the rubric.
Assessment Plan
(What will be done to determine if lesson objectives have been met?)
Materials:
The students will need their books, folders, notebooks, pencils, Sieve of Eratosthenes Packet,
Glogster software and computer.
Enrichment Techniques:
The lesson will initially be presented in the computer room. Then the students who need enrichment will be able to work more
independently. Students may be required to complete the project to show how to use the Sieve of Eratosthenes.
Lesson Differentiation (What modifications/accommodations will be made to ensure that ALL students have access to and are able
to participate in the lesson):
Students will have access to their packet: the Sieve of Eratosthenes, the notes from the lecture, and their peers. Students who still
have trouble will be able to work with peer tutors or come for extra computer time.
Students will be able to ask any of the adults in the room after they: “Ask three before me.”
Students will have time in the resource room or after school computer sessions if needed.
Students will have an opportunity to work with their peer tutors.
Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set:
Today we are going to use Glogstger to illustrate how to use the Sieve of Eratosthenes. We will use our knowledge of the Sieve to
find all of the Prime Numbers under 100.
Students will watch the teacher create a few of the components to her layout and add details.
Students will add all necessary text and graphics to each component.
Closure:
Students will be able to use describe the steps they took to create their Poster.
Students will be to upload their Poster to the class web site and access the Posters of their peers.
