Lesson idea implementation:


Students will complete the Padlet accessible to them on their computer. The teacher get the
students started on each section of the Padlet with a set time limit for completion and will assist the
students as needed and as questions arise, but this is mainly a student-driven lesson. Students will
be asked questions throughout the Padlet that keep them engaged with their classmates and will
watch videos that are for their specific age to keep them engaged. The Padlet begins by asking
students what they know about the weather before watching any video, so this allows the teacher to
see how much students know at the beginning of the lesson. The students must predict the forecast
for the following day so that incorporates real-life skills they use every day to do things such as get
dressed in the morning. At the end of the Padlet, there is a Quizizz that students must get a 100 on
to complete the assignment.
Managing student learning:
The students will be guided by the teacher on each section of Padlet with a time frame of 5 or 10
minutes per section depending on which section they are on. The students will not have too much
time to converse with classmates in between sections but must work if they wish to finish the
assignment in the time given, which is the only time given. In between the sections, the teacher will
read off examples and good answers seen on the Padlet that has now been added to.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): The students will be engaged in the activity through hand on
experience with Padlet on their computers and will represent their ideas freely on Padlet so they can
express their own ideas about weather.
Reflective Practice: I love the idea of this lesson because it is teacher guided by section and broken
down in a way that students can complete the “I Can” statements by the end. The students get to
have fun while completing the lesson and learn something new through engagement with their
peers.
