How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

X Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based (Real world problems) and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing it via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation:

First, I will introduce the topic of stars and explaining our goals of evaluating and communicating
about how stars can be different to one another. I will then play a BrainPOP video for them to learn
a little more. I will take my students on Google sky and let them see the different types of stars then
we will take notes on what we saw. The students will then get to go on Padlet and complete the
activities that I planned. They will be provided with a laptop in the classroom and I will be walking

around the classroom making sure that they are on tasks and I will also be helping students that
need the help.

Managing student learning:

Padlet is an amazing program to introduce new lessons to the students by providing links, videos,
discussion posts, and visuals. The students will have 40 minutes to work on this Padlet assignment. I
will also offer that ask 3 then me, so they can ask a peer for help if they have any issues with the
technology.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Padlet supports all kind of learners, Padlet supports UDL principle of engagement by providing
incorporate interactive elements, multimedia resources, and group activities to keep students
engaged. It also supports different learning types by offering videos, reading, and images. Another
way that Padlet supports engagement is by giving the students different ways to engage with their
peers and teachers.

Reflective Practice:
I feel confident that my students will like this activity using Padlet. I know that they will learn a lot
and they will succeed in this lesson. I really look forward to my students working and learning about
the stars.
