The students will be able to navigate the platforms and explain why an object is living or non-living.
How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:
☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.
☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.
☐ Problem-based (Real world problems) and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing it via an outside source.)

Web 2.0 Tools for Communication and Collaboration
There will be a shift in learning from passive to active social learners as they will need to think
critically about the responses they will be giving and assess how the objects around them fit into the
categories of living or non-living. They will need to take what they previously knew and what they
learned in order to apply it to the lesson. The students will be able to talk with their classmates in
order to find their answers and each come to their own conclusions on the topic.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL):
With this tool, we will be able to provide multiple means of Representation. This tool offers many
ways to customize and display any information given. Whether it be audio, captions, videos, or
images, many of the students will be able to use the tools to create content that is relevant to them.
They will also be able to use the background knowledge they have to be able to complete the task.
Reflective Practice:
I believe that this tool will help students build understanding in a way they could not do with
traditional tools as it allows them to explore the topic presented in an engaging way and in a way
that makes them think critically.
