2. What is a typical day of your work/study?
As I mentioned before, I am still a student, so I have to struggle with a tight
schedule every day. In the early morning, I wake up and grab a sandwich before I
leave, and then I go to a hospital where I can apply myself to get exposed to the
patients/ practise my medical skills. In the evening, the next destination is my
university I really like the time when I hear my teacher is delivering a lecture
because I can study a new thing about the human body. Finally, I have to revise
my lessons and accomplish the homework in the evening. So at the rest of the
day, I am totally exhausted.
3. What do/don’t you like about your work/major?
- LIKE: what I like most about my major is that I have many opportunities to
get exposed to the patients. To be honest with you, I am an extrovert but I
am really into taking with my patients. They provide any information about
their disease with a frank attitude. And when I cure a patient I fell verery
chirpy.
- DISLIKE: What I don't like most about my major is that I have to struggle
with a tight schedule. I must go to school or hospital early every morning
and come back home late in the evening. In addition I cram for exams and
burn the night oil on a regular basis because there is too much knowledge to
study. Sometimes, It makes me crazy.
4. Do you like working in the morning/evening?
To be frank with you, I am a night owl, so I prefer working in the evening. I
usually come back home at 6 pm, after that, I will have a scrumptious meal.
Therefore, 8 pm or after that is the time I work most effectively.
5. What keeps you motivated in your work/study?
6. Would you like to change your job/study if you had a chance now?
As I mentioned, I am too tired of my study. Hence, If I had a chance, I would
get rid of some unnecessary subjects at my school, ranging from philosophy
/fɪˈlɒs.ə.fi/ to
physical education. I also would want to cut down many tests
that really difficult.
Home/Accommodation
I live in a detached /dɪˈtætʃtd/ house which is small but nice. The house is fully
furnished with all mod-cons /mɒd ˈkɒnz/ like a cooker, a bridge, two air
conditioner, a big bookshelf and so on. I really enjoy every moment when I am
living there.
5. What kind of accommodation would you like to live in the future?
I have a tendency to live in a small house but It must have a garden because I have
been keen on gardening since I was born. I will plant a wide range of flowers and
some short-term fruit trees. It will be the best accommodation if there are many
state-of-the-art furniture/ mod-cons helping me do household chores.
Living area
I am currently living in the centre of Can Thơ where is full of convenient amenities
like amusement /əˈmjuːz.mənt/ parks, cinemas, and shopping mall. The traffic of
Can Tho sometimes is bad, especially during peak hours. Although I usually deal
with congestion, I love to live there because the food is mouth-watering/
scrumptious and the people are kind/ benevolent, they always willing to give a
hand.
Of course, because Can Tho has/ has acquired a reputation for prestigious
education such as Can Tho university or Can Tho university of medicine and
pharmacy or Ly Tu Trong highschool for the girted. If families live there, their
children can get exposed to advanced education. In addition, the living standard
in Can Tho is not extravagant /ɪkˈstræv.ə.ɡənt/, so It is appropriate for almost
families.
Well, It really depends on each person. For instance, the young generation
has a tendency to hang out with their peers or immerse themselves in the
melodies of the music. On the other hand, the elderly prefer watching telly
with their family in a cosy atmosphere. No matter what they do, their aim is
to reduce stress effectively.
If I had a chance, I would like to move to Ho Chi Minh city because I have
always cherished the dream to work in a bigger city that provides state of the
art medical methods curing patients. I want to broaden my horizons and
improve my professional skills.
Hometown
I have grown up in a small village, so the area depends on agriculture for most of
its income. My neighbours aren’t rich in property but they’re rich in benevolence
/bəˈnev.əl.əns/. They’re always willing to give a hand when I or others need help.
3. How has your hometown changed during the past few years?
My hometown has changed quickly over a decade. The infrastructure has been
innovated /ˈɪn.ə.veɪt/ completely. Markets have emerged like mushrooms.
The number of potholes/ˈpɑːt.hoʊl/ decreased sharply/ substantially and the
public transport system develop. As a consequence, the air and the sounds
are more polluted.
4. Would you like to live there in the future?
It really depends on my ability. If I can land a decent job at Can Tho or Ho Chi
Minh city, I will move to this city. By contrast, I don't secure a well-paid job, I will
come back to my hometown and enjoy a peaceful life but have a little money.
5. Would you like to live in a countryside in the future? Do you like living in a
countryside?
Yes, when I am old or when I resign, I will live in the countryside where reduce
the bustle and hustle of the city. My dream is that I can buy a small house
fully furnished with all mod-cons in a tranquil area nearby a river. Every
morning, I can taste a cup of tea and enjoy the morning vibe. In the evening
I go fishing or do gardening.

Well, To be honest with you, I am truthfully an avid reader. I have always been
interest in reading book since I was born. When I was a little girl, I used to spend
all my lucky money on buying comic books. Therefore, the topic doesn’t take me
so long time to come up with= create= generate an idea for the question.
Off the top of my head is the cookbook, Its name is “ How to cook for beginners”,
written by a famous Vietnamese chef in the culinary world. It used to be the best
seller with more than 200.000 copies printed and sold. If my memory serves me
right, I received this book when I graduated high school from my mother because
she got a bit anxious when I studied away from home. She took it for granted: No
one cooked meals for me, so I had to rely on myself. Frankly, cooking is not my
forte. Fortunately, this book is too easy for a person who didn’t know the first
thing about cooking like me to digest/ understand. The book provides many
simple recipes to cook various dishes. The thing that really impressed me about
this book is that it not only included everything in clear detail but also used vivid
and colourful pictures for illustration, which made it so interesting and appealing to
me. From the book, I know how to recognize and use different ingredients and
spices in cooking. Thanks to the book, my ability of cooking has improved greatly.
And now, I cook on a regular basis.
I’d say that this book is an extremely useful and informative book for anyone,
especially a beginner, who wants to learn cooking and live independently.

Part 3:
Will you continue doing something when you are aware that it's a waste of time?
The topic reminds me of the time I started to learn how to cook. As I mentioned
cooking is not my forte/ I don’t have a snack for cooking and I lived with my
mother, so she completely cooked meals for me. As years went by, I didn’t
recognise that cooking skills plays a crucial role in my life until I graduated high
school and started to live independently. I mean I had to move to another city to
pursue higher education. At the first time, I depended outright on processed food.
One day, I really hated unhealthy food and missed a family meal, so I decided to
learn how to cook. I called my mother to ask for help. As a result, my mother sent
me a cookbook, Its name is “ How to cook for the beginners”, written by a famous
Vietnamese chef in the culinary world. The book provides many simple recipes to
cook various dishes. The thing that really impressed me about this book is that it
not only included everything in clear detail but also used vivid and colourful
pictures for illustration, which made it so interesting and appealing to me. So I read
from cover to cover within one day. I applied myseft to cook a scrumptious meal,
but for a person who didn't know the first thing about cooking like me, learning
to cook is not that easy. The first meal I made was horrible. The fish was burnt
black and the soup was salty. Although the result wasn’t my expectation, I practise
cooking day by day. And now, I am proud to say that I cook well. After my
experience, I recognise that practice makes perfect.
