1. If 3(y – 1) + 6 = 12, find the value of 2y.

13. (a) Aanchal is 12 years older than her sister. After 4 years, Aanchal age will be equal to thrice
the age of her sister Manya. Find their present ages.

14. (a) If A = 2x2 – 3xy +5y2, B = – y2 + 5xy – x2 and c = 7x2 – 7y2 + xy . Find the value of
A + 2B + C for x = – 1 and y = 2.

15. (a) The base and height of a triangle are in the ratio 7 : 5. If the area of the triangle is 1750m2,

16. (a) A 10m long ladder is placed against a wall of a building. The foot of the ladder is 6m away
