Lesson 6: MOMENT OF INERTIA OF A PLANE AREA

Objective:
 To determine the moment of inertia of a plane area.

Formula:
I ƛ = ∫ r 2 dm
I ƛ = ∫ r 2 dA
Where r is the distance from a particle of mass m of a fixed distance ƛ
Example:
