“CHOOSE A PIC”

TOPIC: Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)


Content Standard: The formation of typhoons and their movement within the PAR
Performance Standard: Demonstrate precautionary measures before, during, and after a typhoon, including
following advisories, storm signals, and calls for evacuation given by government agencies in charge
Learning Competencies/Objectives: Explain how typhoons develop. (S8ES-IId-18)
Objectives:
Given the latitude and longitude of a tropical cyclone tell if it has entered the Philippine Area
of Responsibility.
Explain what is meant when a typhoon has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Cite the role of PAG-ASA in monitoring typhoons
Direction: The class will be divided into 4 groups. There will be pictures to be presented on the board. There
will be 4 pictures to be presented in the class. They will pick the pictures that they think they are comfortable
with. Each group will pick 1 picture. Then, after picking, each group will be given 3 minutes to discuss the
picture and answer the question “What is the role of PAG-ASA in monitoring typhoons?”
They will present their answers to the class through:
a. a jingle
b. a discussion
c. a poem.
d. a song
They will select their choice of presentation.

Optional Task: For those who are not around, the task will be sent to the GC.
Instruction: Choose a picture that you think you are comfortable with. Choose the picture that you think suits
your needs. Then, give your explanation about it. You can write an essay, make a jingle, make a video role-
play, or a discussion through video and submit it through my Gmail account(jeazelmosendo@gmail.com) or
in our GC or in my messenger account. If you chose essay, you could write it in a short bond paper and let
your parent submit it in school. The rubric will also be submitted as basis of your scores.
