i. Executive Summary

The preliminary survey regarding the customer requirement has been accomplished. Site visit in Addis

Abeba in High rising buildings, Consulting with stake holders such as masonry workers, building

consultants and house owners who are currently building high rising structures. As per the Material

purchase was attempted several times by collecting Performa, but the current market fluctuation has

resulted in the purchase of almost 30% of the materials required for the project.The Manufacturing of the

Plastering machine is on the way according to the proposed milestone the gear box manufacturing has

made a progress as shown in the attached picture.

 From field survey and interview with respected organizations and personnel has given

us a clear picture on how the machine should be manufactured 90% completed.

The Next step would be to manufacture the rest of sub-assemblies and finish the current sub

part that is on progress

3. Plans for Activities during the next reporting period

The first activity is to gain access to raw materials for the manufacturing either utilizing the

purchasing procedure or purchase from my own pocket money because the delay of this

project has been a burden on my shoulder. Next after gaining access the manufacturing of

several parts for the manufacturing of sub-assemblies will be carried out in collaboration

with Debre Birhan TVET, Hibret Manufacturing and Mechanical Department of Debre

Birhan University. Finally, a working Prototype would be Presented to the Debre Birhan

University Community.

4. Major challenges

There is only one major challenge which is the material purchasing procedure. The universities

material purchasing procedure is not permitting to adjust with the current market fluctuation, If

there are methods the university can propose this problem that would be pleasing.
