Derek Ling King Lun 中文四

Toronto: City that you can eaily immerse into

Everyone wants to live in a wonderful place where people can do anything and have

everything they want. In my opinion, any city cannot be declared the best city because any city

has special characteristics. Despite that, I believed that it would be enjoyable to live in Toronto.I

would like to introduce this charming city’s culture, security , and the healthcare system.

Toronto is a multicultural city. This city boasts 200 ethnic groups with over 140 languages

spoken. Over 50 percent of the residents are not from Canada which means that there are so

many opportunities to communicate with people who have various backgrounds. Spending time

with people who have different cultures lets people recognize that there are tons of ways to live

and they are all individually diverse. It is definitely a wonderful chance because not many cities

like Toronto provide a friendly environment for people to get to know more about other

lifestyles. It is also a good way to study language from native speaker. In addition, living here

you can also try different kinds of food all over the world such as Korean dishes, Chinese food

and Arabic food.

The city has High level of healthcare, several top-rated hospitals, clinics, world-class

doctors and specialists. There are free health services available. People who have been a resident

of Ontario for three months are entitled to health care services paid for by the Ontario Health

Insurance Plan (OHIP). OHIP covers many health services you may need, such as appointments

with your family doctor, visits to walk-in clinics and some other health care providers, visits to

an emergency room, medical tests and surgeries. Even the new immigrants do not have to

apprehend the high medical costs.

Toronto is very safe, it's generally safe to walk in downtown Toronto at night. The rate of

police-reported community violence in Toronto in 2017 is 641.0 per 100,000. Crime in Toronto

has been relatively low in comparison to other major cities. The Economist Intelligence Unit

(EIU) released its 2019 Safe Cities Index Opens in new window, ranked Toronto at 6th out of 60

cities. It shows that people who consider living in Toronto, especially the downtown regions,

don't have to worry about the safety problem.

In conclusion, Toronto is a delightful and diverse city where people can start their new life.

Maybe Toronto is not the best city in the world, but it is a pluralist society that people can

integrate into society easily.
