1 PTM 4.80 General New Features & Improvements
> OMICRON Device Link replaces OMICRON Device Browser on CPC StartPage
With 4.80, Device Link will fully replace OMICRON Device Browser for the client-device handling.
> Manual assessment for the CPC Quick test in PTM had been added
This allows giving a better indication about the status of obtained results, including inclusion in the
report.
Note: The most severe assessment level defines the overall test assessment, displayed in the Overview
tab.
License requirements: PTM CPC Quick requires PTM Advanced for CPC 100 license (VESM0671).
- The detailed view for transformers shows the condition of the transformer components including key
measurement results.
- The detailed view for circuit breakers shows the condition of the CB components including key
measurement results.
License requirements: The license requirements are equal to the already existing MPD 600 integration. To
enable the functionality, customers need the PTM Advanced license for CPC100 (VESM0671) or CPC80
(VESM0676) and the high voltage test card VESM0636.
Additionally, the MPD 800 “Automation/Integration interface” add-on (P0000039) is needed.
Supported methods:
• PTMate
• External button connected to CPC’s binary input
Note: When using the binary input, assigned sounds are outputted via the Primary Test Manager to give
acoustic support for the tester.
License requirements: The Stray Flux Measurement requires the PTM Advanced for CPC 100 license
(VESM0671)
Note: In PTM, you need to de-select and re-select the curve in the Plot view.
> The warning message, A non-standard CT behaviour was detected during CT excitation
measurement appears at the end.
In case a rising current is detected with a falling output voltage, for example due to external disturbances
in the lower part of the linear CT curve, the warning message could appear during measurement.
When this situation now appears, users are informed at the end of the measurement about potentially
inaccuracy and can decide to reperform the measurement, for example with noise suppression option, or
accepting the results.
4.1 Improved injected current handling for Ground Impedance & Step- and touch
voltage tests
> Injected currents are now locked after the first measurement point execution
With the newly introduced possibility in PTM 4.70, allowing to prepare grounding system tests in the
office, the injected currents field was locked after adding the first measurement point.
As intended injection currents often can only be determined on-site, the field will now be locked only
after the first measurement execution.
During the test, the laminated stator core is energized with an auxiliary winding at a low percentage (e.g.
4%) of the nominal flux. Potential short circuits in the laminations are detected by the stray flux measured
using a Chattock coil.
The test requires the Stator Core Measurement Upgrade Option for the CPC 100:
Measurement configuration:
- Control of the ELCID test directly from a smartphone using PTMate 1.90 (see below)
Note: GPS supported maps can be loaded in the Asset view over the Show Map via Microsoft BING.
> Collision avoidance for Ground Impedance when set GPS location does not match with current
GPS position
When test points with GPS information had been added, PTM checks if the set and current GPS data
match. If GPS points deviate more than the current GPS accuracy, a warning will be displayed.
5.1 General
> Support of Italian language in PTM
> Introduction of language-specific manual packs for download in the customer area
> New job and assessment icons
> Improved dialog for the selection of manuals and application notes
> CPC StartPage manual view was aligned to the new PTM manuals view.
License requirements: The Quick test requires the PTM Advanced license for CPC 100 VESM0671
Supported Features
- Calculations based on measurement readings
- Table and Plot view
- Triggers
- Noise suppression settings
- Reporting
License requirements: The Quick test requires the PTM Advanced license for CPC 100 VESM0671.
> Transferring data to Excel, BI tools or asset management systems via the OData interface
The standardized OData interface provided with the Data Analytics license allows for an easy data
transfer to many other applications such as Excel, BI tools, EAM or APM systems. Most of the software
systems can directly connect to an OData feed.
2.4 DeviceLink for CPC 100, CIBANO 500 and TESTRANO 600
> Device Link support including firmware and license upgrade
> New file browser for CPC 100 and TESTRANO 600
With the intuitive side by side view, data can now be exchanged more easily between a test set and a
PC.
Changed default settings: For windings with an accessible starpoint, the default settings are changed
to “Automatic result” On and 3-phase mode.
> Quick Test
The Quick test performs the AC measurements frequency selective based on the output frequency.
> TESTRANO Touch User Interface
Usability and Styling improvements in navigation and user interfaces.
License requirements: This test requires the CPC license for the HV Source test card VESM0636 and the
MPD license for the Integration Module VESM4108 for the Partial Discharge report integration.
5.1 Extending the Contact Resistance Test to support both sides grounded
measurement method
The Contact Resistance test has been extended in order to additionally support the both sides grounded
method. The User Interface for the test has been updated to enable the user to get the correct resistance
value with the introduction of the Compensate ground loop resistance option found in the Settings and
conditions tab of the test.
5.2 Vibration and generic sensor support for the TN3 device added
We have introduced the new option of selecting different analog transducer types for the TN3 accessory. In
addition to the already present travel (angular), travel (linear), and pressure, we have added the vibration
and generic sensor support.
When selecting the vibration sensor type, the user can enter the Resolution value for the specified
transducer in [mV/g]. The final trace is represented in [g]. (g= 9.81 m/s2).
The generic sensor support allows the customer to define the resolution without the constriction of a
predefined unit.
By following the new Report designer expandable menu section found in the Custom reports section of
PTM, the user can either create a new report template, or edit an already existing template. The design
process is done in Excel with the help of the PTM Report Designer Add-in which provides the customer
with a number of options from the measurement data of the executed job. The user can place measurement
values, settings for the setup with which the test was performed, PTM graphs of the executed tests, and
design the template according to the customer’s requirements. After adding the designed template to the
table, the report can be either created as an Excel report or in a PDF format.
Available location information allows the user to automatically place and document measurement points
for the Ground Impedance and Step & Touch Voltage test.

1 PTM 4.50 Features & Improvements for Rotating Machines Testing
> Partial Discharge High-Voltage Source Test
The partial discharge test result integration during high-voltage source test using OMICRON’s MPD
systems results in huge time savings for reporting. For each voltage step, the PD results and a PRPD
pattern are automatically generated and can be selectively added to the report.
> Support of CP TD12/15 and CP CR600 modules in combination with CPC 100 for
power/dissipation factor testing
With the integration of these new accessories, testing of the insulation of generators and motors can be
done with voltages up to 15 kV. The intuitive and easy connection concept makes testing faster and
safer.
