Course Title Physical Activities Towards Health and Fitness (Movement Competency Training)
Course This course introduces the fundamental movement patterns that consist of non-locomotor and locomotor skills, which are
Description integrated with core training to meet the demands of functional fitness and physical activity performance. Emphasis will be
on exercise regression and progression for the enhancement of fitness and the adaptation of movement competencies to
independent physical activity pursuits. In conjunction with fitness and wellness concepts, exercise and healthy eating
principles, periodic evaluation will be conducted of one’s level of fitness and physical activity, as well as eating patterns to
monitor one’s progress and achievement of personal fitness and dietary goals.

Learning At the end of the semester, the students should be able to:

7. Describe the function and structure of skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle;
8. Relate the connections between skeletal system and sports;
9. Differentiate the phases of the fitness exercise programs;
10. Execute the different body conditioning set of exercises suggested for fitness development;
11. Demonstrate the rhythmic activities and dances accompanied with the music; and
12. Demonstrate an understanding of safe participation in aerobic activities.

Course Policies 1. Attendance. The total number of attendance will be based on the total number of outputs ( 1 output= 1 day). Status of
attendance and points will depend on the promptness of submission:
a. on time submission = present (1 pt.)
b. beyond deadline submission = late (0.5 pt.)
c. non- submission = absent (0 pt.)
2. Class Participation. Students must be active on the chat group created solely for the course for updates whenever
necessary.
3. Examination. Online examination is much encouraged. Make-up exam will only be given for those who have valid
reasons.

4. Submission of Requirements. Class requirements are to be submitted on time. Reasonable deduction/s will be imposed
for late submission depending on instructor’s discretion.
5. Intellectual Integrity. Cheating and plagiarizing are strictly prohibited (dishonesty shall be dealt with accordingly).
6. Proper Conduct. Observe proper decorum at all times. Student’s attitude towards instructor, classmates and even task
accomplishment will be the basis for the work ethics grade.
