plastic jar. The plastic jar includes 12 individually wrapped peanut and milk flavored

polvorons.

Nakama Special Polvoron has an online page in Facebook where people can

learn about our products and order. Transaction is done through meet-ups inside the

school or through deliveries in classrooms.

Business Objective

Since Polvoron is one of the popular food during our childhood days, We have

come up to an idea of bringing it back to the modern day so that the new generation of

kids will also experience this type of food. Nakama Special Polvoron creates sweets in

lined with our tag line, “Overcoming bitterness through baked sweetness.” Our small

business aims to bring joy to every customer. We make small treats that give customers

the satisfaction they want.

Business Proponents

The people behind this Nakama Special Polvoron are John Carlo Besmonte,

Andrew Almayda, Gary Bondal, Daffney Caldino and Jeric Manilag who are currently a

3rd year Student in San Jose Community College taking up Bachelor of Science and

Business Management major in Human Resource Development and Management.

Business Duration/ Operation

Process

The first thing we do is we put the flour into the hot pan and wait until it turns

brown

Second, Once the flour turns brown, we then add the butter and mix it until it

melts.
Once the mixture is done, we then now add the peanut butter, sugar and milk

powder at the same time and mix again.

After mixing all the ingredients, we can now add some food flavoring like ube,

chocolate and peanut then mixed again until its cooked.

We can now mold the polvoron and put it inside the fridge then start wrapping it

individually with cellophane and put it back in the fridge.

Target Beneficiaries/Client/Buyers

Students-Students can enjoy eating our product even when they are inside their

room or while doing some studies.

Teachers- Teacher can also enjoy this during their break time or it can be their

stress reliever

Fathers, Mothers and kids- Our product is perfect for family gatherings, picnics or

just having some quality time together.

Online Buyers- Since our Business mainly utilizes Facebook, our product is now

available online and can enjoy whenever they want.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths

People love our Special Polvoron because of the additional ingredients that we

mixed that gives a twist to the original taste of the polvoron. Our polvorons can be kept

inside the refrigerator for one week when you don’t want to eat it yet. But then, you will

see and find out that there would be no differences that will occur during that time. Our

polvoron will taste as it is because of the quality and the process on how we made

them. You can also give our polvorons to your love ones and can be shared by 2-5

person in just 1 plastic jar.

We named our product as Nakama Special Polvoron because every bite of it will

surely taste good as the name itself. Also, our product will never disappoint you. We are

consistent until the end.

Our product has also a fantastic marketing strategy. We make sure that we can

sell our product with those people who ordered our product. We also made some

advertisements to purchase our product to the others.

Weaknesses

The weakness of our business is the target market. We have limitations in our

target market. Our product is note yet available for any delivery transactions. One of the

great factor that prevents us from growing our business because we lose some potential

costumers. But because we love what we are doing we still manage to come right in

time when we are having meet-ups with different costumers.

Opportunities

There are opportunities for other consumer outside the San Jose Community

College we can sell and expand our product after we have completed and finished the

project because many of the orders in our Facebook page is from the outsiders so as a

group, we decided to take that opportunity to gain income. We are not just working but

we are also having fun.

Other opportunities are that we can change and add more flavors to our product

for it to become more popular. Our consumer may also have the chance to pick

whatever flavors they are craving for. If our business might be successful in the future,

we might add some more items to sell for the consumer to be satisfied.

Threats

The Threats in our product is the competition between other small businesses

such as the Sweet Kamote Doughnuts, Mixed Veggie chips and Cheesy mushed potato

pizza which are the businesses of our other classmates. All of which are also easy to

sell. (We think of ideas to create and make products which are scrumptious to

everyone. We created a kind of polvoron which cannot be forgotten by anyone even

with those famous competitors.

Not all of us have a sweet- tooth so it is hard for us to convince other consumer

to buy our product. But then because of our good strategy they will still end up buying

our product.

and where he/she will get the products and deliver it on the agreed details. Nakama

Business Strategies

Social Media

Many people around the world have and uses different social media accounts.

Teenagers and young adults use social media platforms to post updates, learn stories,

discover things and do other activities that suit their purpose. Our business mainly

utilizes Facebook, an example of a social media platform, to market our product. We

created an online page where people can learn about our product and order them. We

also post posters and videos in the page to inform our customers about our product.

Word-of-mouth Strategy

This is one of the most commonly use marketing strategy of small businesses.

We told our family and friends to like and share our page and also tell it to people they

know. We also persuaded people we know from school to patronize our product. This

proved to be one of the most important strategies because more people started to order

and avail our product after we utilized this.
