WHAT IS A JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS (JSA)?

JSA Standard and Purpose of JSA

The JSA Standard establishes mandatory requirements
and process for conducting Job Safety Analysis prior to
commencement of work.
Job Safety Analysis ensures that content and location
work are defined, potential hazards of both the work
site and tasks are identified, the significance of hazards
are adequately assessed and control measures defined
reduce the risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
Completed JSAs may be uploaded to the ADNOC JSA
library for future reference and use.

JSA – WMS and eWMS

• In eWMS all the JSA controls are set into the

eWMS modules.
• E-signatures are made accordingly and the
forms printed out with e-signature.

• When using the Crash Pack paper forms have to be

filled in.
• Signatures will be wet ink by responsible
parties.
• In both cases, a printed copy shall be kept at
the worksite during execution.

EXERCISE – JSA FOR MECHANICAL SEAL REPLACEMENT TASK

• Split into groups of six.

• Assign suitable Roles to team members.
• Using this JSA Slidepack, the JSA Workflow Chart
and the JSA Standard, make a JSA assessment for
the Permit of the Mechanical Seal Replacement on
an in-service pump.
• If time allows, Make JSA assessment for the Permit
used for spading of the lines required before
changing the Mechanical Seal.
