Allow the students to identify the different parts that make-up the Binomial
theorem such as n, i, combination of n and i and summation. This activity may be
done orally. Teacher may also use matching type test where the variables and its

indicate underlying mathematical principles for each step. Allow students to ask
questions after the lecture.
Now that the students have a specific idea on how to identify a specific term of a
binomial. Discuss the general method applied when solving for a specific term of a
certain binomial expansion.

Divide the class into groups A and B. Group A and B will answer examples 2.4.5 and
2.4.6, respectively. Divide groups A and B into smaller groups w/ 3 members each.
Allow each smaller group to determine the term specified for each binomial
expansion. Remind them to write the underlying mathematical principle applied in
each step of the solution.
Provide time for groups A and B to consolidate all answers generated by each small
group. Ask them to write their group solution on a Manila Paper.
